After leading for the majority of the event, commenced to weaken when placed under pressure passing the 300m and finished at the rear of the field. Apprentice A. Thompson explained that the gelding travelled well until straightening and when placed under pressure failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
