Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 800m when racing keenly, improved between GLOCK and EL COYOTE where there was insufficient room, and shortly after made contact with the hindquarters of GLOCK. Lost the near fore plate in running.

Passing the 250m had to be shifted out to avoid the heels of FIVE OXFORD to improve.
Hung out rounding the home turn which enabled KUDU to improve to its inside near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be striding short in both forelegs. Co Trainer’s J & C Meagher’s representative advised Stewards that they would have their veterinary surgeon examine the gelding and report back the findings of the examination.
Near the 800m, when the pace steadied, had to be restrained from the heels of GLOCK.
