Slipped in the tie up stalls prior to the event, examined by veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Rider T Harrison explained after leading the event she was unable to dictate the pace of the race after TYCOON PLAYER, which was over-racing, applied pressure from the 800 metres. Ms Harrison added as a result FEDERAL AGENT was obliged to work harder than anticipated and weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Over-raced in the early stages. Passing the 1200 metres had to be restrained from heels and threw its head in the air before shifting out taking SAMARUI wider on the track. TYCOON PLAYER then progressed forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres. Passing the 150 metres was checked between STUCK WITH YOU which shifted in slightly under pressure and BIGGIE, which after obtaining a narrow run between TYCOON PLAYER and FEDERAL AGENT was taken out marginally.
