Trainer T. Haydon was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Apprentice J. Murphy reported his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event.

Slow to begin and trailed the field throughout. Jockey N. Day indicated the horse did not travel at any stage of the event and was obliged to ride the horse vigorously throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken. Trainer L. Ross was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding due to its poor performance. Mr Ross reported he would have blood tests performed in the coming days and also discuss with the owner the horse’s immediate racing future.
