Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to advise a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied. Overaced when the pace slackened near the 900m.

After being slow to begin, was then tightened for room and steadied shortly after the start.
Approaching the 800m was placed in restricted room to the inside of KING RAGNAR and remained awkwardly placed at that horse’s heels before being steadied leaving the 700m. Jockey T. Harrison, rider of KING RAGNAR, was reprimanded for this incident. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off fore leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to its next race start.
