After being slightly slow to begin, the mare was then tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.

After initially racing in a 3 wide position, the gelding was forced wider on the track by another runner near the 900m, and then when unable to be restrained by its rider to a position closer to the rail, was forced to race 4 wide without cover for the remainder.
