Near the 700 metres shifted out and bumped MATILDA GENE. Pulled hard for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride.
Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and near the 250 metres had to steadied from the heels of BRILLIANTLY which rolled in momentarily.
Near the 800 metres when the pace steadied had to be steadied from the heels of BRILLIANTLY before shifting wider on the track.
Rider K Cowan was reminded of her obligations in regard to reducing the pace of the race when leading the event.
Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after bumping its nearside hindquarters leaving the stabling area and was cleared to start. Very fractious after being loaded into the barriers, dropped its head as the start was effected, began very awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and losing significant ground. Trainer G Heinrich was advised CASH ON FIRE must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.
