Trainer D. Bell reported that blood tests taken from Silver Fox revealed no significant abnormalities. He indicated he would experiment with different types of gear on the horse.
 
As  apprentice R. Williams and jockey M. Zahra were was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
 
Race 1: Barley Kingsford-Smith Cup Day Class 6 H'cap – 1000m
 
LIVE FAST – Trainer T. Sears  was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
MISERY – Change of tactics. To be ridden just off the pace if circumstances permit. Raced 3 wide near the lead.
 
TAILLEVENT – Slow to begin.
 
COLINELLE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
STELLA OMBRA – Slow to begin.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.
 
LADY DUPORTH – Bumped by another runner at approximately the 500m.
 
TREVINDER – Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
Race 2: Treasury Brisbane Ladies Oaks Day BenchMark 85 H'cap – 1500m
 
PUNTA NORTE – As R. Williams was indisposed and no other apprentice was available, M. Cahill was substituted as the rider of the horse.
 
PINDAN PEARL – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
CHIVADAHLII – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
JIM ‘N’ ANDY – Raced in restricted room for some distance after leaving the 500m.
 
DESERT GENERAL – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale his mount overraced in the early stages.
 
EIGHT’S A PARTY – Raced wide without cover.
 
SNAPPER – Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 3: UBET Stradbroke Day Open H’cap – 1805m
 
MORENDI – Steadied off heels near the 1600m.
 
RULING FORCE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
MY DIAMANTINE – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
KAISER FRANZ – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
FELTRE – Raced wide without cover.
 
EMPHASIS – Jockey J. Lloyd could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance. Trainer R. Stephenson  advised that, in his opinion, the gelding did not appreciate the track conditions today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4: UBET Dalrello Stakes 2yo Listed – 1200m
 
CAPITAL GAIN – Slow to begin.
 
STYLISH CRIMINAL – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SAINT PATRICKS DAY – Shifted in on jumping away and made contact with another runner.
 
OURS TO KEEP – Bumped on jumping away.
 
ITALIA BELLA – Jockey Orman reported at scale his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
SNITZKRAFT – Jockey L. Dittman reported at scale that, in his opinion, the colt did not appreciate the track conditions today.
 
BOLD KINGSTON – Raced wide without cover.
 
PRICING POWER – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 5: Sky Thoroughbred Central QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1300m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the video footage of the race to consider whether they would lodge an objection on behalf of the  owners of the  2nd placegetter BILLY THE KID against the winner OINK for interference shortly after entering the straight. Subsequently stewards elected not to proceed with an objection.
 
ZAMEXA – Slow to begin.
 
CHIEF JOSEPH – Became awkward on heels approaching the 1000m and  shifted out, bumping another runner.
 
OINK – Shifted out to improve after leaving the 400m and made contact with another runner.
 
BILLY THE KID – Bumped after leaving the 400m.
 
STORM GIRL – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
LIPSTICK LOVER – Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
 
Race 6: Ellyce Galvin Victory Stakes – 1200m
 
TUMBLER – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: Ascot Green Gunsynd Classic 3yo Group 3 – 1600m
 
KUNMING – Change of tactics. To be  ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse subsequently settled just off the lead.
 
HUNDRED – Slow to begin.  Raced wide without cover.
 
KUBIS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
REALING – Slow to begin.
 
BALBOA ROCKS – Trainer D. Hansen advised he would report back to stewards if anything was found amiss with the horse, which finished a distant last.
 
DREAMS APLENTY – Apprentice T. Brooker pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(i)(ii) in that  she used her whip on 17 occasions prior to the 100m, a number of which were in consecutive strides and 10 times inside the 100m. Apprentice Brooker was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight, 6 May and to expire at midnight, 13 May.  In assessing penalty, stewards took into account her previous record regarding whip use penalties and that today’s race was a Group 3 event.  
 
SPRING TYCOON – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Jockey D. Browne reported that the colt did not stretch out throughout the event and was disappointing.  Trainer S. Kendrick advised he would have blood tests taken from the colt and would report the results to stewards.
 
 
Race 8: BRC Membership Class 6 Plate – 1300m
 
BECKONING LIGHT – Declared a late scratching at 4.26 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
2 Cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
2 Cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
1 Cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
4 Cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets

TRUBIA – Slow to begin.  Jockey B. Stewart accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m.

HOTEL COSTE – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale that when he attempted to steady his mount near the 800m the gelding got its head up and lost ground.
 
REAL EGO – Jockey P. Hammersley reported that his mount failed to handle the track conditions today.
