Race 1: LIKE US ON FACEBOOK BENCHMARK 45 H’CAP 1000m
 
NEAR THE CITY – Slowly away.
 
KAP IT OFF – Shifted out at the start crowding another runner. Near the 300m shifted out across heels to obtain clear running and in doing so took another runner wider on the track. App A Thomson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
NOVA CHINA – Was crowded by another runner on jumping.
 
CRAIGLEA ZING – Raced 3 wide for the majority. Was taken wider on the track near the 300m when another runner shifted out across heels.
 
MANSALE – Raced wide at the home turn.
 
HELOW TUCKER - Raced wide at the home turn.
 
Race 2: MIDWAY BUTCHERS BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP 1000m  

SPACE TIME which became fractious in the barriers was withdrawn by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2.01pm. Trainer’s Representative Mr R Ryan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
 VINCE THE PRINCE which refused to load was withdrawn by order of Stewards at 2.03pm. Trainer Mr R Finch was advised that the gelding would need to trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to again start in a race.
 
 Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on SPACE TIME and VINCE THE PRINCE be refunded in full and that all successful wagers placed on the event prior to 2.01pm be subject to deductions of 30 cents in the dollar win and 27 cents in the dollar place and further that all successful wagers placed on the event between 2.01pm and 2.03pm be subject to deductions of 3 cents in the dollar win and 4 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket.
 
SHOT OF COURAGE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
HITCH ‘EM UP – Raced ungenerously for a short distance passing the 600m after making contact with the running rail. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
STIEG – Inconvenienced when awkwardly placed in restricted room near the 400m.
 
SERGEANT SHRIVER – Raced wide at the home turn.
 
BON TEMPS – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 3: RADIO 4KZ MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
GROHL – Slowly away.
 
SPEEWAH LASS – Unable to muster pace when racing greenly in the early stages. Trailled the field throughout. Trainer Ms L McCormack was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s competitiveness.
 
ZEDAHEEL – Was momentarily held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
 
CANON KING – Raced 3 wide for the majority. Was inclined to shift ground under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAROON CREEK – App E Cass advised that the gelding which was racing for the first time in a clockwise direction had not travelled comfortably but will have derived benefit from the experience.
 
Race 4: PEASE PARK BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP 1200m
 
MUST BE OBEYED – Stood flat-footed and missed the start by 5 lengths. Trainer Mr F Wieland was advised that the filly would need to trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to again start in a race.
 
MY GIRL CHAZ – Began awkwardly. Inclined to over-race in the early stages. App E Cass advised that the mare had a tendency to hang out.
 
FLYING IGGY – Severely hampered after being crowded between runners soon after jumping.
 
HONEST FRIEND – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Jockey J Lambie was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m on FIZZICALLY WICKED.
 
Race 5: BANANA RACEDAY 19th AUGUST BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP 1500m
 
GOT YOU DOUBLE – Crossed to the rail when not quite clear passing the 1300m. Jockey B Thomson was advised to ensure her mounts are fully clear of other runners in similar circumstances. When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding Trainer Mr A Cameron advised that in his opinion it was better suited over the shorter distance of today’s event and the addition of a nose roll had also been of been a factor. Mr Cameron’s explanation was noted.  
 
DAZZLUNA – Had to be restrained near the 1300m after being crossed by another runner which was not quite clear.
 
PERFECTLY SWEET – Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Was taken wider by another runner which shifted out near the 900m.
 
BLU AXIS – Had to be restrained when racing in restricted room near the 1000m.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 800m.
 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason why DAZZLUNA became severely unbalanced and shifted out abruptly near the 900m.
