SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Rockhampton 2 February, 2017
 
Class 6 Plate- 1300 metres
 
Trainer M Attard advised that SUPREME JET would now be spelled.
 
Race 1: Diplock’s Collision and Repair Centre BM 55 Handicap - 1500 metres
1st  -  TAKINGS  2nd  -  THAT'S WOODY  3rd  -  TRIGGER LAD  4th  -  PLAIN 'N' SIMPLE
 
LET ME SAY THIS -  Shifted out abruptly at the start and dislodged Jockey L. Tilley. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards viewed the patrol films and declared that the gelding was a runner. Trainer S. Rundle was advised that a barrier certificate will be required prior to the horse's next start.
 
ROCKLORD - Near the 500 metres bumped with TAKINGS.
 
Near the 300 metres THAT'S WOODY (A. Butler) shifted out, taking PLAIN 'N' SIMPLE (Apprentice N. Summers) out onto LOOKSLIKERAIN.
 
THAT’S WOODY- Jockey Butler was advised of the requirements in regard to the use of his whip prior to the 100 metres.
 
TAKINGS – As only a post-race blood sample could be obtained, the gelding was retained on course for a period of 2 hours to allow a urine sample to be collected.
 
 
Race 2: The Capricornian Maiden Plate - 1050 metres  
1st  -  SEQUOIA MISS  2nd  -  MISS MARSEILLE  3rd  -  GLADISHING  4th  -  CAUSING MAYHEM
 
KOKO CLANG - Began awkwardly.
 
THE KING'S WISH - Began awkwardly, made contact with MISS MARSEILLE.
 
CALL ME KEV -  Slow to begin, shifted out at the start and made contact with another runner.
 
SEQUOIA - Laid in on a number of occasions in the straight.
 
CAUSING MAYHEM - Near the 900 metres raced ungenerously on the heels of SAYKRID LADY.
 
FINE FINESSE - Near the 150 metres shifted out slightly, despite the efforts of its rider and cause KOKO CLANG to be steadied away from that horse's heels.
 
Race 3: Linemac Toyota QTIS 3YO BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st  -  CAPE HALIFAX/OUR INVESTMENT (DH)  -  3rd  -  RUSTY SCOOTER  4th  -  ARNHEM BEAUTY
 
OUR INVESTMENT - Prior to the declaration of correct weight Trainer J. McConachy viewed the photo finish film and was satisfied with the judge's placings. Dipped when contacted at the start. Near the 500 metres and again a short distance later laid in on the heels of RUSTY SCOOTER.
 
FLAT TO STACK - At the start shifted in and made contact with OUR INVESTMENT.  When questioned regarding the performance of FLAT TO STACK Jockey M. Barnham stated that his mount was inconvenienced at the start and while he anticipated taking up a forward position, rather than having to race wide, he took up a position back in the field and when placed under pressure it did not show its customary sprint nevertheless found the line well. He said that the horse may perform better over a longer distance. It was observed that the horse was inclined to lay in in the straight.
 
RUSTY SCOOTER -  Slow to begin.
 
HI SUGAR - Had difficulty obtaining a clear run for the majority of the straight.
 
TWO OF A KIND - Near the 200 metres was tightened for room between OUR INVESTMENT (N. Day) and FLAT TO STACK (M. Barnham). Jockey J. Taylor reported that his mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event. He said that he advised connections to add a bubble cheeker to the horse's gear for its next race start.
 
CAPE HALIFAX – Stewards will review the use of the whip by Jockey J Stephens.
 
Race 4: Elder’s Financial Planning Class 3 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - FUTUREAL  2nd  -  DENNIS DENUTO  3rd  -  ALL HOST  4th  -  MT ZIGGARO
 
FINAL HOPE - Made contact with TERIO TOOL on jumping.
 
JILL'S SHADOW - Raced wide with cover throughout. Near the 1000m,  shifted out from the heels of TERIO TOOL.
 
MT ZIGGARO - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DENNIS DENUTO - Began awkwardly and returned to scale with a small laceration to its off side nostril.
 
TERIO TOOL - Near the 1000 metres commenced to over-race, shifted out taking MT ZIGGARO wider.
 
ALL HOST - Shifted ground under pressure in the latter stages of the straight.
 
THE CATHOLIC GIRL - When questioned with regard to the mare racing in a rearward position, Jockey N. Day stated that he anticipated taking up a forward position, however when his mount began only fairly and placed under pressure in the early stages it failed to respond.

Race 5:  Hairhouse Warehouse Rockhampton BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1100 metres   
1st  -  COVERT CHARMOUR  2nd  -  FINAL HOPE  3rd  -  SANOSUKE  4th  -   COURT LANE
 
AMBER ALE - Late scratching, at 2.05 p.m. by order of the stewards when the horse was found to have a laceration over its nose.
 
HOYWEDGE - Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer T. Cook for the late declaration of Apprentice C. Jokic. Slow to begin.
 
HILLCREST- Made contact with another runner at the start.
 
SANOSUKE – When contacted by another on jumping, shifted out and inconvenienced ESPRIT LIGHT, which was tightened onto the hindquarters of COURT LANE.
 
FINAL HOPE - Near the 200 metres shifted out under pressure, taking COURT LANE outwards. 
 
COURT LANE- Trainer C. Thompson advised stewards that the mare will now be sent for a spell.

Race 6: Tropical Pool Maintenance Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres   
1st   -  ISIS AMBER  2nd -   COZUMEL  3rd -  INSOLVENT  4th -  CHICA PEEPS
 
DRAGON FIRE - Over-raced in the middle stages. Stewards will inquire into the riding out of this horse over the concluding stages.
 
BAR STORIES - Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
CHICA PEEPS - Apprentice C. Jokic reported that her mount had been slow to begin. Trainer T. Cook advised that it was intended that the mare race in a forward, however it was observed that the horse took up a position towards the rear of the field. Held up momentarily near the 200 metres.
 
QUIET REFLECTION - Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
HOT LOVE - Bounded in the air on jumping.
 
HIDDEN ANGEL - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
OVERLOAD- In the straight, was inclined to lay in.
