GENERAL:
Stewards held an inquiry after being notified by the Racing Queensland Handicapping Department that JABBS which placed 2nd at Injune, 10 June 2017 in Race 1, Elders/Williams Hall Chadwick/Rabobank QTIS Maiden Plate (1000m) was incorrectly weighted by the Handicapper. The gelding was weighted 55.5kg, and should have been allocated 57.5kg. Stewards therefore disqualified the gelding under AR47(3). Placings were amended to the following:
1st – TELL A FIB
2nd – ITSTINGS
3rd – CRUNCH TIME
4th - VOLTAGE MARINE
Connections of JABBS were advised that no fees would apply.
RACE 1: ROMA VET CLINIC MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
FLORIDA ROAD – Bumped heavily at the start. Shifted out near the 100m to obtain clear running.
CRUNCH TIME – Bumped heavily at the start. Raced wide throughout.
QUEEN CARLEY – Tightened for room on jumping.
GOLD BEAVER – Tightened for room on jumping.
RACE 2: QLD REDS WE STILL LOVE YOU OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
GEEJAY – Began awkwardly. Held up entering the home straight until shifting out near the 150m to obtain clear running.
HOT VINNI – Tightened for room at the start. Jockey C. Bryen reported that the gelding failed to muster early speed, in his opinion didn’t handle racing on a sand surface for the first time. He also added that the gelding would appreciate further distance and a grass track.
TORERO - Raced wide throughout.
EXTRA SHOT – Raced wide throughout.
HAMILTON - App. N. Morton was fined $100 for a celebratory gesture prior to passing the winning post.
RACE 3: RUGBY SLIPPER QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1000M
CRAIGLEA VELVET – On jumping App. G. Hayes lost his right iron become unbalanced, had to restrain his mount and took no competitive part in the race.
ASK AUDREY - Began awkwardly.
TELL A FIB – Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide throughout.
GRAND EDGEROI – Began awkwardly.
FABULOUS RED - Raced wide throughout.
MIZ NAZAR – Tightened for room over the concluding stages.
RACE 4: SANTOS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M
POP’S SON – Failed to arrive on course due to transport difficulties was declared a late scratching at 2:20pm. All monies invested on POP’S SON were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply:
0 cents in the dollar for the winner #4
9 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #4
8 cents in the dollar for second place #7
8 cents in the dollar for third place #3

MR BOXVALE – Raced wide throughout.
GRAND CHEVAL – Slow to begin. Taken wider onto the track near the 800m.
MYBOYOLIVER – Raced wide leaving 800m.
RACE 5:SPORT OF KINGS & GAME PLAYED IN HEAVEN BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1640M
STAR PROSECUTOR- Declared a late scratching at 10:00am due to no riders being available.
TRUE JOY – Began awkwardly.
BAY HERO – Raced wide early stages.
DAWN FIGHTER – Raced wide throughout. Tightened for room over the final stages.
AUSTRALIAN VENTURE – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
