YOU DON’T SAY MOLLY – Refused to settle in the early stages and hung out from the approaching the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be showing signs of a poor post-race recovery. Trainer S. Kendrick advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to its next race start.
GUISSOLA – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn.
SHOWASHADOW – Had some difficulty securing clear running in the home straight.
YANKEE TANGO – Jockey M. Cahill stated at no stage did his mount feel comfortable in the rain affected conditions, and did not pick up and travel at any stage of the event and was very disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

VENETIAN BEAUTY – Bumped by another runner after passing the 800m and forced wider.
MAJOR CONSUL – When asked to comment on the performance, L. Tarrant stated that after racing comfortably just behind the lead it travelled well to the home turn, however when asked to respond at the top of the straight was reluctant to stretch out and was disappointing. He felt the horse may not have been comfortable in the rain effected conditions.

TRUCULENT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage over the concluding stages. Jockey J. Lloyd advised he had been instructed to attempt to obtain cover, however the horse overraced badly in the early stages and he was obliged to settle outside the lead. He indicated he had suggested to connections to consider removing the blinkers before its next start.
EXPAT ENVY – Jockey J. Orman reported he had wanted to ride the horse in a more forward position. He added his mount did not show sufficient speed in the early stages and was going to be caught wide so he elected to steady and take up a position at the tail of the field.
