Completed

The Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club were successful in obtaining funding for a new state-of-the-art tower.

The project forms part of Racing Queensland’s approved Infrastructure Plan and is considered a key priority Infrastructure Greyhound project. Early works were done under the Country & Regional grant funding.

The old greyhound tower wasn’t fit for purpose and was demolished due to contamination of asbestos and compliance accessibility issues.

The new tower houses the lure driver, the steward, the race caller, photo finish judge and the broadcaster. It is twice the size of the old tower and comfortably accommodates all personnel. It also sits higher and gives a better view of the race track.

The Club received a new finish camera and timing system which gives stewards better ability to review race footage.
