RACE TWO

This race shapes as a two-horse battle between the stablemates where the leaning is towards the race fit CLASS TO THE MAX (2). Laying out an impressive victory here last week when sitting parked and turning over AWAYWEGO, it followed a fresh run when 2nd as a short price fav. The gate and fitness give him the edge.

LEAP TO FAME (4) is a classy customer that returns from a spell after a 2YO term that netted 8 victories and a pair of 2nd placings in his 11 outings to date. Too strong last start over the mile in a PB 1.53.9, he is more than up to the task and with a pipe opener at the trials, looms as a big danger.

ROCKNHOLME (6) is going better than his figure form numbers suggest and his latest return behind RACY ROXY was a tidy effort. The wide gate does him no favours again.

CANT BLUFF YOU (1) makes his first appearance in Qld after being sent North to Shane Graham. Runner-up two starts back at Menangle, the inside gate is a bonus fresh up.

SELECTIONS: CLASS TO THE MAX (2), LEAP TO FAME (4), ROCKNHOLME (6), CANT BLUFF YOU (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CLASS TO THE MAX (2) to win

RACE THREE

A tricky contest here with many of these combatants not owning the best stats over the 2138m that they need to cover for this battle. ROBERTS DELIGHT (8) will need an element of luck to his effort but should have taken benefit from his first Qld appearance behind CLASS TO THE MAX last week and gets the nod in an open affair.

SHEREACTS (7) last claimed victory here back in November when a winner over this trip after sitting parked. Not too far away at her past two starts, the gate does her no favour but with an even slice of luck in transit, can overcome the carpark.

BARBOO (1) come up with the options from this alley and can be in the right position to chime in. Fading after being sent forward early from the 2nd line last time, the gate is his friend here.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (5) has good speed out of the machine and was using that to try to take them all the way last start when grabbed in the last strides, He can get forward but his record at the trip is the concern.

SELECTIONS: ROBERTS DELIGHT (8), SHEREACTS (7), BARBOO (1), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROBERTS DELIGHT (8) to win

RACE FOUR

Stepping out for his first assignment since departing New Zealand, SAGINAW (4) arrives with the Jack Butler stable a five-time winner. Looking super impressive in a trial here where he put them away stylishly after being tucked away against the pegs, he might just go on a streak.

HEAVENLY WISDOM (1) released the speed on Saturday night from this same gate when content to take a trail on eventual winner BLUE IVY. Finishing midfield, it followed a 3rd placing behind CHARM OFFENSIVE and with the cosy trip will be trying to make a closing play.

ALBION ARK (8) was making plenty of metres in the closing stages last start on The Triangle after easing from gate 6 to settle at the rear. With a fence run, he can be picking a few off late here.

MOLLIESMARYELLE (7) has the wide gate because of her own manners but her effort here on Saturday night in a mare’s qualifier had merit when closing out in nice order. She can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SAGINAW (4), HEAVENLY WISDOM (1), ALBION ARK (8), MOLLIESMARYELLE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 4 / 1-7-8

RACE FIVE

GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (7) is a winner in two of four appearances since arriving in Qld, the latest when using the passing lane to cruise by and claim a 4m margin. Easing into the 1x1 trail here two starts back when 3rd to REBLINE and only beaten 2m, a hot tempo will aid her chances.

LANCELOT BROMAC (3) was angled to the poles last start from the second line and was right in behind them in a blanket finish when under 3m from the winner. IN a race where he can slide into the running line early and relying on the tempo, he might just bob up at career start 450.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (8) was big in defeat here last week when three-wide basically all the way. In for the fight, she had the temerity to be just 1.5m in arrears. From the gate she will be probing.

SLIDE TO UNLOCK (6) was sent to sit parked over the 2138m trip last start and despite doing all the heavy lifting, was able to hold on for the bronze. The wide gate stings, but she can feature.

SELECTIONS: GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (7), LANCELOT BROMAC (3), SHEZ ALL STYLE (8), SLIDE TO UNLOCK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (7) to win

RACE SIX

This race can likely go one of two ways, with the 1 demolishing them or it being a wide-open contest. If Stun Gun falters MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (7) is the most likely to capitalise despite the wide gate. A smart winner in front two starts back, he was stung by a 26 sec opening panel last start. He can take his shot.

STUN GUN (1) is hard to get a line on exactly where he is at. Resuming here after his last start was almost 12 months back in April, he has had three trials in readiness for the return. None of those have been overly impressive, but a replication of his 1.50.9 Menangle win four starts back cannot be ignored, nor his run two back when beaten a half-neck.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when firing off the arm to take control from gate 5 and lead throughout. He can apply some early heat here.

ONE LAST ROLL (6) made the most of gate one last start when taking control and from the front was never in danger over the Redcliffe sprint trip. The wide gate stings but he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (7), STUN GUN (1), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3), ONE LAST ROLL (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

A model of consistency in recent weeks, the draw gives SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) every opportunity to breakthrough for a deserved victory. Tackling a strong qualifier on sat night, he was midfield behind SOHO SINATRA. 4m away here last week, he comes up with the options to capitalise.

BOHANNAN (8) settled rearward from gate 10 last start before making some nice metres over the closing stages and running home in some handy closing splits to finish midfield. Runner-up the start prior from the pocket trail, he will be hemmed away and waiting for the gaps to take his shot.

BEE GEES BANDIT (4) angled to the pegs last start from the 2nd line and in behind the action, was strong to the line behind MAJORDOIT. Settling handy enough from this alley can see him feature.

KINGOFTHESTARS (2) worked to the front over the 2138m here last week and rolling in front showed some nice improvement to hold on for the silver. He can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1), BOHANNAN (8), BEE GEES BANDIT (4), KINGOFTHESTARS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Needing plenty of luck from this alley, AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) will take good experience from his first appearance in Aus when finishing 4m from THREE IN HEAVEN. Starting from this same alley on that occasion, he will be requiring some factors in his favour and need to spot the gaps in time to arrive.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3) was sent to sit parked from gate 5 last start over the 2138m and after the tough trip was within 1.5m of the winner. Grabbing 3rd, the start prior, he could have been closer with a smoother passage and from this alley can look to throw down the challenge.

STICK MAN (2) will be fitter following his return to the track for his first Qld appearance last start. Releasing the speed as the odds-on favourite, he had to settle for 2nd and can feature again.

FLO RYDA (1) was out of the pack and chasing behind SLIP THE HUNDY to grab the bronze last start when resuming from a spell. That was a nice return and with all the option has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8), WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3), STICK MAN (2), FLO RYDA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8),

RACE NINE

COURAGEOUS SAINT (9)
last started from gate 6 when retreating to the back of the pack and then was only produced at the 250m to make a run. Wide off the track and scraping the outside paint, he was charging home for 3rd behind MOHS EM DOWN. Pressing through at the start, he can be much closer in transit to make a play.

DIKERRY (2) started from gate 11 last time out and from back in the pack was not really getting warm until the race was in the bag for MAJORDOIT. Making good metres in the latter stages the start prior for the bronze, the improved gate can see him make a challenge.

OUR UNCLE JIM (3) is fresh from his last appearance back on January 7 when using the passing lane to grab 2nd behind HELLO ITS ME. With speed out of the machine, he can be close enough to feature.

BOMBADIER JUJON (5) resumes from a spell after his last appearance back in December when finishing down the line after starting from gate 6. At his best he is up to taking this, may just need a run or two to sharpen.

SELECTIONS: COURAGEOUS SAINT (9), DIKERRY (2), OUR UNCLE JIM (3), BOMBADIER JUJON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: COURAGEOUS SAINT (9) to win
