RACE ONE

Just the small field over the long trip here from the tapes where three of the six will have their first appearance in stand start event. CAPTAIN CRUSADER (6) was locked away against the poles last start when finishing with the bronze in a slippery last 800m. Missing the money just once in a dozen attempts here at The Creek, he can launch a raid.

ANOTHER STATEMENT (1) will need to answer a few questions to issue the challenge but is aided by the inside lane. Taking his first outing from behind the strands and stepping out over the trip for the first time, his last start was good when beaten up the passing lane a half-head.

TOMMY LINCOLN (5) has been kept fresh since his last outing when setting the speed over the 2138m and only the flying TURN IT UP got past. Given a pipe-opener at the trials, he looms large.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (6), ANOTHER STATEMENT (1), TOMMY LINCOLN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (6) to win

RACE TWO

In a race where none of the combatants can show a win at the middle trip, the best recent form belongs to PARKED IN HEAVEN (2) who can use the good alley at her first look at the trip. Resuming from a spell when beaten a head at her first run in Qld, the added fitness can see her home.

BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS (1) is a newcomer to the Sunshine State after crossing the ditch to link with the Ben Battle barn. Arriving with a solitary win, he has been to the trials on three occasions, the latest when finding the line nicely in the stretch. He has all the options to challenge first up.

SHADYS CULLECT (3) is another having her first look at the middle trip. Runner-up in a Trot Rods Heat two starts back, she was too far back last start at Marburg. Positioning cheaply will be vital.

INDY JEWEL (10) has placed in both attempts at the middle trip, the latest here two starts back in the Breeders Consolation when strong to the line behind PARTY POLOTIX. She can chime in.

SELECTIONS: PARKED IN HEAVEN (2), BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS (1), SHADYS CULLECT (3), INDY JEWEL (10)
SUGGESTED BET: PARKED IN HEAVEN (2) to win

RACE THREE

Landing another second line barrier, his fourth in succession, JET FORCE (10) has been racing well and been able to overcome the back row twice in that stretch. Powering over the top to arrive in the closing strides last start, he will be hoping on some tempo to repeat the victory.

SHEZALUCKYLADY (2) has placed at her past two starts, both from the second line. Making a costly error last start at Marburg, she chased gamely to grab 3rd behind A GOOD IDEAL. The return to the front to utilise her early hustle can see her throw down the challenge.

ABBEY DIADEMA (1) lacked the early speed from this same gate last start and was then carted back through the pack by a tiring runner, ending her hopes. She can bounce back with the right trip.

BLACKJEWEL (8) capitalised from the front line at Redcliffe last start when taking control in the early stages and taking them all the way. Likely to be hemmed away, she will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: JET FORCE (10), SHEZALUCKYLADY (2), ABBEY DIADEMA (1), BLACKJEWEL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JET FORCE (10) to win

RACE FOUR

Absolutely enormous in defeat last start, GOLDEN SAND (7) was three-wide and attacking the entire way over the 1850m at Marburg last time out. Despite the torrid trip from the second line, he had the temerity to make one closing lunge and come up a half-head short. He can go one better.

BETTOR ROMANCE (9) is yet to claim a victory here at The Creek from her 16 appearances but has managed to place in half of them. Her past dozen outings have all been in mare’s qualifiers, the latest when 7m from the winner SPORTY DANCER. She can make a closing challenge.

CALL ME TRISH (5) has placed at her past three in succession, the latest when finishing 8m in arrears of the winner CRADLE OF FIRE. Finding position cheaply will be key to her chances.

NESTERS HILL (3) started from inside the second line last time out at Marburg and was best of the chasers behind MOTU CULLEN. With early hustle, he can be in position to feature.

SELECTIONS: GOLDEN SAND (7), BETTOR ROMANCE (9), CALL ME TRISH (5), NESTERS HILL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLDEN SAND (7) to win

RACE FIVE

CHEDDAR MADE BETA (9) has been beaten by the barrier at his past two at Marburg, copping the outside front line gate in successive outings. Close up behind ITS SUPER EASY here three starts back, he can look for the easy trip and in an open contest can look to sneak home over the top.

OUR FRIEND (1) was runner-up ere three starts back over this trip when setting the speed from this same gate, with only MAYWYWN MACDUFF getting past. Fading after working hard when parked last start at the mile, he founds a wide-open contest to throw down the challenge.

FEEL THE THRILL (2) tackles the AP 2138m trip for the first time off the back of a tidy win at the mile last start. Sent forward from gate 6 to take them all the way, he can be handy to make a play.

PRECIOUS SARA (10) rolled forward from gate 6 over the mile last time out to find position and was 6m from the winner when the judge called a halt. Not suited the start prior, she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: CHEDDAR MADE BETA (9), OUR FRIEND (1), FEEL THE THRILL (2), PRECIOUS SARA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CHEDDAR MADE BETA (9) to win

RACE SIX

Placed in four of her six starts this season, ITS BACK PAGE NEWS (2) looks to find the right conditions to open the 2022-win account. Keeping them wide last start, the cost of leading came at a sub 27 opening panel and proved too expensive behind BANGKOK DEEJAY. This looks her chance.

SNOOP STRIDE (10) eased from gate 6 to find position last start over the 2138m but found them too slippery in the closing stages as THE RACONTEUR dictated in front. Striking the classy filly COVER GIRL the start prior, he looks better suited in this line-up to make a closing play.

ASHLEE NITRO (6) has the wide gate to negotiate but should appreciate this grade after finishing not too far from the winner last start in a mare’s qualifier. With a strong tempo she can be swooping.

MELTON INSULTED (1) has enjoyed racing at Marburg this season, where she has five wins, including 2 in her past four starts. With the gate to be prominent, she can look to bring it to the big deck.

SELECTIONS: ITS BACK PAGE NEWS (2), SNOOP STRIDE (10), ASHLEE NITRO (6), MELTON INSULTED (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS BACK PAGE NEWS (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Gate 7 and tempo were against FLO RYDA (5) last start when retreating to the rear as THERESACHANCE carved it out in front. A Trot Rods Heat winner the start prior which had followed a close 2nd at the same format, he has the sticky gate but can look to take a closing shot.

RAANI (4) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when sent to the post as favourite from gate 1 in a mare’s contest. Holding them wide, she was trying to see it out, fading in the closing stages to be 3m in arrears o the in-form winner BAKER CREEK. With early hustle, she will be gripping on.

MISSTREPO (2) started from gate 9 last time out at Redcliffe and was making some late metres from back in the pack to grab the silver. Settling handy to the action, she can make a closing play.

WHATA ROLLER (1) was a Marburg winner three starts back when settling behind the speed and finding the space to get clear. Placed in both starts since, he will secure an economical trip.

SELECTIONS: FLO RYDA (5), RAANI (4), MISSTREPO (2), WHATA ROLLER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FLO RYDA (5) to win

RACE NINE

His own manners have seen him drawn widely off the track yet SAGINAW (10) has shown terrific change-up speed in his races to win two of his past four. Swooping hard on them last start to arrive to lower his own benchmark, he was beaten when asked to sit first over the start prior, but tempo looks right for him to arrive here.

GENERAL MONTANA (8) claimed a PB win last start when charging off the arm from gate 5 to take control and from the front was never in danger to score a 4m margin. Not much had been going his way leading into that win and from this gate, he will be hoping he can get the lane with momentum.

LADY AVANA (9) was resuming from a spell last time out when settled at the rear before hitting the line smartly over the closing stages for 2nd to the in-form BAKER CREEK. She can descend again.

JUST DESSY (6) scorched around Redcliffe last start to claim the Trot Rods fastest time when exploding clear to take a 24m margin. A winner up the inside here three back, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SAGINAW (10), GENERAL MONTANA (8), LADY AVANA (9), JUST DESSY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
