RACE ONE

Sent to the front after a safe start from the tapes over the standing 2647m last time out, WATTS UP SUNSHINE (4) set the tempo that led to MACH SHARD breaking the track record. Fading in the stretch to be 11m in arrears, he is prior starts have been much better than the figure form suggests.

JASPER (1) has peeled off some smart sectionals in both starts since returning from a tilt at the 4YO APG Final at Menangle in early May, including a sub 55 last 800m last start. Midfield in both of those outings, she lands the improved alley and comes up with the options to throw down the challenge.

ARTILLERY (7) rolled forward from this same gate last week and was obliged to do it the tough way outside the leader. Under sufferance at the turn, he was fighting hard but cops another stinger.

THREE IN HEAVEN (8) took full advantage of the inside gate last start when darting through to take control and then take them all the way. With the cosy trip, he will be probing for gaps.

SELECTIONS: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (4), JASPER (1), ARTILLERY (7), THREE IN HEAVEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (4) to win

RACE TWO

A mixed FFA this week over the flying mile where the McCarthy mare THE HONEY QUEEN (3) will make her first Qld appearance as she builds towards the Golden Girl. Claiming her past three in succession over the flying mile at Menangle, the latest came from gate 8 where she fired out before taking the trail. From this alley she looks hard to stop.

DEUS EX (4) has faced the starter 23 times in Qld and been driven by Brendan Barnes on every occasion. Chloe Butler will take the reins for this assignment off the back of a down the line performance last start in the Flashing Red. Just a half-head from TURN IT UP two starts back, a return to the mobile mile is a big plus.

CRUNCH TIME (7) cops the outside paint once again, the third successive start he will wear the number 7. Fading after a tough trip last start as WILL THE WIZARD dictated, he is a podium hope.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5) botched the start last week in Flashing Red in uncharacteristic fashion and was then needing luck that didn’t arrive. Strong to the line the start prior, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: THE HONEY QUEEN (3), DEUS EX (4), CRUNCH TIME (7), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HONEY QUEEN (3) to win

RACE THREE

Appreciating a return to mobile conditions after his past three have all been from the tapes, MISTERFREEZE (8) looks set to enjoy an economical trip against the poles. Strong to the line three back for 3rd to TURN IT UP, his effort two back was full of merit and stalking the speed here will be ready to strike.

RANGER BOMB (6) started from the second line last time out where he was able to settle in the running line before trying to make some metres wide on the track and landing 5m in arrears of the passing lane winner INFATUATION. The wide gate hurts but he can challenge in this line up.

FOND MEMORIES (1) started from this same gate over the 2138m two starts back when taking a sit on the back of CAPTAIN CRUSADER and finishing 3m in arrears. With all the options, she has claims.

OUR MAJOR DAY (2) pressed on from gate 5 last start and sitting parked was grafting it out to the wire when 3m from the winner. Limiting the work from this alley can see him be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: MISTERFREEZE (8), RANGER BOMB (6), FOND MEMORIES (1), OUR MAJOR DAY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTERFREEZE (8) to win

RACE FOUR

With six runs back this campaign, KASHED UP (2) is yet to land a win but has managed to place in five of those attempts. The only miss came from gate 7 when back in the pack after easing off the arm, the latest effort a 3rd to MAJOR JELLIS form the outside gate. Back to qualifying grade, he should be too classy.

THERESACHANCE (1) is in good touch and will chase down a threepeat of victories after successive all he way performances. Dictating with a sharp closing half at Redcliffe last time out, it followed a slippery all the way win here from gate 4. The gate is a big help as he looks to make the next step.

NICKS PICK (8) looked to have found ideal conditions last week but came up a neck short of the prize behind CLASS TO THE MAX. With another soft trip on offer, he can be stalking ready to strike.

FALCONS (5) was buried soon after the field found position last time out from inside the second line before a pleasing close-out behind THE RACONTEUR. From the tricky gate, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: KASHED UP (2), THERESACHANCE (1), NICKS PICK (8), FALCONS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KASHED UP (2) to win

RACE FIVE

After tackling the Flashing Red from the tapes last start, a return to this company should appeal for ITS MR CLOONEY (2). Locked away in last week’s standing start feature, he was midfield to MANILA PLAYBOY the start prior and with early hustle off the arm, can be a in a position to strike.

ROCK BOTTOM (5) angled to the poles last start in a tougher contest than he will face here and locked away did not get the space when needed to make a closing raid. Hitting the board at his past seven in succession, a return to the veteran’s grade looks ideal.

KEY LARGO (6) will take some benefit from his latest outing where he was resuming from a spell and forced to do it the tough way when sitting parked. Lighting the fuse early can see him in the mix.

STREITKID (8) was looking to take them all the way from gate 1 last time out but could repel the closing challenge of WILL THE WIZARD. With the second line options, he can make a play.

SELECTIONS: ITS MR CLOONEY (2), ROCK BOTTOM (5), KEY LARGO (6), STREITKID (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS MR CLOONEY (2) to win

RACE SIX

Making her first appearance in Qld off the back of a let up since last at the track, SOHO ALMASI (1) comes up with the perfect gate to kick start her Northern campaign in style. Taking them all the way in a slippery 1.52.5 rate at Bendigo two starts back, she pipped late last start at Menangle and looks too classy fresh.

PLATINUM REVOLUTION (8) peeled off some tidy closing splits las start when midfield behind SPORTY DANCER, beaten 6m. That was just her 2nd start in Qld and with the benefit of the outing which was just her 2nd in over six weeks and the trail behind the speed, she is in the mix.

SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (2) found the pocket trail from this gate last start and with the economical trip made the closing shot a winner in a new career PB. Settling handy she can chime in once again.

GIRL FROM OZ (10) will take benefit from her latest outing where she was resuming from a let-up and soon buried from inside the second line. With even luck she can make a podium play.

SELECTIONS: SOHO ALMASI (1), PLATINUM REVOLUTION (8), SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (2), GIRL FROM OZ (10),
SUGGESTED BET: SOHO ALMASI / PLATINUM REVOLUTION (1/8) quinella / exacta

RACE EIGHT

The figure form may look poor for LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (7), but each of his past four starts have all been from the tapes. Making a mess of it last start in the Flashing Red and never in the mix, the start prior was sound behind MACH SHARD. Back to the mobile and dropping into veteran’s grade can help overcome the gate impediment.

OHOKA JIMMY (1) was buried away from this same gate on Tuesday and when finding the really attacked the line in nice order to be just a neck in arrears of the winner I NEED YOU NOW. With the benefit of the inside alley, he can again secure the economical trip to make a closing challenge.

MAYWYNS COURAGE (8) resumes from a spell and returned a tidy pipe opener at the trials in readiness for the return. With second line options, he can be chiming in down the stretch.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (5) charged off the arm last time out from this same gate over the 2138m before taking a seat and then landing the prize up the passing lane. He can feature again.

SELECTIONS: LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (7), OHOKA JIMMY (1), MAYWYNS COURAGE (8), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Now a three-time winner here at The Creek, SPORTY DANCER (1) was second up this Northern campaign when overcoming gate 10 to claim a mare’s qualifier last time out. Settling in the running line, she owned superior closing speed to take the prize. With all the options, she can go back-to-back.

BAKER CREEK (4) has hit a purple patch of form, completing a threepeat of victories here last week when swooping hard over the top to score. Claiming a mare’s qualifier two starts back, the small field should suit here and can be ready to issue the challenge.

PRINCESS DANICA (2) was buried in the run last time out and made some good metres in the closing stages behind SAGINAW. Not suited when sitting parked the start prior, she can fill a minor in this.

MISDEMEANOR (3) was hemmed away and needing some luck last start and never saw the gaps when needed when just 4m in arrears. Runner-up her previous three in succession, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SPORTY DANCER (1), BAKER CREEK (4), PRINCESS DANICA (2), MISDEMEANOR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SPORTY DANCER (1) to win
