RACE ONE

Is today the day for JACCKA WATCH (1) to finally breakthrough for an Australian victory. Runner-up at his past six in succession, last start from three back against the poles he was making some late ground to be 3m in arrears of the winner. From this lane, he can be positioned to open the account.

SHEGOTSASS (5) will take further benefit from her latest outing where she was second up from a break. Settled in the running line after starting from the second line under mobile conditions, it was a tidy effort that had followed a tough first up run. Added fitness can see her challenge this line up.

VALLEY ESS JAY (6) has worked his way into some form and will get back to the tapes here after competing from the mobile at his past two. A Redcliffe winner two starts back, he can feature here.

HATTIE (3) tackled the 2647m here last start and found it out of reach when down the line. Runner-up at Redcliffe two starts back from the pocket trail, back to the 2138m here looks more suitable.

SELECTIONS: JACCKA WATCH (1), SHEGOTSASS (5), VALLEY ESS JAY (6), HATTIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JACCKA WATCH (1) to win

RACE TWO

Mixing his form and facing challenges set about by his own manners RIGONDEAUX (2) produced a much-improved effort last time out. Moving up to sit outside the leader, he did it the tough way over the 2647m and was game in holding on for 3rd behind MAJESTIC HARRY. From the front tape he might just pinch this.

RILEY MOMENT (10) put it all together last start when safely away from the tapes over the 2138m and soon after was able to find the front. Controlling the tempo, she kept them rolling and pulled clear to claim victory by 21m. A winner three starts back, she will have to defy the 20m tape for this.

FATHER CHRISTMAS (1) made a complete mess of the start last time out and was never a factor after being left behind. Runner-up here three starts back, a safe getaway can have him in the mix.

REGAL APPOINTMENT (8) has finished in the money at his past two starts, the latest when facing the 10m tape and chasing hard behind RILEY MOMENT. He can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: RIGONDEAUX (2), RILEY MOMENT (10), FATHER CHRISTMAS (1), REGAL APPOINTMENT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: RIGONDEAUX (2) to win

RACE THREE

Making starting error at her first two outings in Qld, VALKYRIE (2) was sent to the post in red figures last start from gate 1 over the mile. Firing out to easily hold the front, she led deep into the stretch, only to be collared in the last strides by DELIGHTFUL LOU. The distance should be no concern.

GOLDEN LACE (1) showed the hustle to lead from gate 4 over the mile here two starts back and after trying to put the chasers out of play with a 27.8 3rd panel but was worried out of by FRANKIES TOOTH. A beaten fav at Redcliffe last start, she has the gate to issue the challenge.

ILLBEWATCHING (5) has not had much go his way in terms of barriers, having been off the second line at his past three in succession. Using the passing lane last start when 4m away, he can chime in.

BEEFY BENSON (8) started the punters elect last start from gate 5 and had the hustle to take control. Unable to see it out when holding 3rd, he has the second line options to make a play in this.

SELECTIONS: VALKYRIE (2), GOLDEN LACE (1), ILLBEWATCHING (5), BEEFY BENSON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: VALKYRIE (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Opening her account here last week when finding the pocket trail, TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1) looks to have found the ideal set up to add another win to the card. Finishing best to claim a 3m margin last time, it followed a sound effort when 4m away on debut and this is right in the slot.

CARTER GRANT (5) started from gate 1 at his only career appearance when buried in the run and finishing midfield to TORQUE LIKE MOTION. The added experience garnered from the debut effort might just be enough to see him make a challenge in this.

DOLLAR BUCKS (7) is a Hurrikane Kingcole gelding on debut for Trent Dawson that has trialled in nice fashion for his first appearance but cops the tough gate first up.

FRAYA (2) was the first emergency for Saturday’s Breeders Classic but was not required and takes her place here. Striking trouble in both career runs to date, a sharper effort would not surprise.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1), CARTER GRANT (5), DOLLAR BUCKS (7), FRAYA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1) to win

RACE FIVE

STUDLEIGH MARK (1) started from gate 1 last time out at Marburg where he was beaten for early speed and from the trail grabbed 2nd after squeezing off the poles at the 350m when the leader was stalling. 5m away here two starts back, he lands the options to claim an open contest.

WHATABOYJACK (10) is in search of a winning hat-trick after claiming successive wins here at the mile. Eased from gate 7 last start before owning superior closing power to arrive, he did it from the front end the start prior. Despite a sticky second line gate, the threepeat is within reach.

MELTON INSULTED (8) will likely be buried here but will secure an economical trip against the poles. A last start Marburg winner when leading throughout, she will be probing for the openings.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (7) has good hustle off the arm and from the wide alley can look to get across the field early. Fading after setting the speed last start in a race claimed by subsequent feature winner RACY ROXY, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: STUDLEIGH MARK (1), WHATABOYJACK (10), MELTON INSULTED (8), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Having met some tougher opponents in recent outings, MISTER REACTOR (8) will be relying on a slice of luck to get the gap in time. Just 4m from WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH last time, the start prior he was not far from CLASS TO THE MAX. With the rub of the green, he can arrive.

PUSHINIT UPHILL (1) lands his best gate this season and possessing early speed, gets the opportunity to utilise the advantage. Chasing and not in the mix behind TEDDY DISCO last start, his effort two back was solid when 8m from TIMS A TROOPER and the gate gives him the chance to challenge.

BETTING ORIGIN (9) eased off the poles from inside the second line last start and was chasing for the bronze when 4m from the winner A RAINBOW DANCER. With a cart home, he can feature.

THE EX HORSEIST (3) made a winning debut at Redcliffe last time out where he was able to lead before putting up a margin in the stretch. This is a tougher assignment, but he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MISTER REACTOR (8), PUSHINIT UPHILL (1), BETTING ORIGIN (9), THE EX HORSEIST (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER REACTOR (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

In a race where none of the field can boast a win here at The Creek over this middle trip, LEANDER (3) lands the opportunity to be the first. A winner here last Friday when easing away from the poles and then finishing over the top for a smart win, she does have a 2040m win at Redcliffe and this looks within her grasp.

ROSES ARE SWEET (11) resumes from a spell without a public trial for this assignment, her last appearance when claiming a 2040m victory at Redcliffe where she led throughout from gate 4. Beating a nice field on The Triangle back in December, it is an ask first up from this alley to challenge.

PARTY POLOTIX (1) has had some good fortune with barriers and lands the ace for the 4th time at her past 6 outings. Grabbing a minor on each occasion she has drawn 1, she can continue the trend.

HARLEY BLUE (8) is yet to cash in this season, her latest effort a 4th when chasing to be 7m from WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH. Likely to be buried, she will be searching for the openings.

SELECTIONS: LEANDER (3), ROSES ARE SWEET (11), PARTY POLOTIX (1), HARLEY BLUE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: LEANDER (3) to win

RACE NINE

DELIGHTFUL LOU (9)
eased from gate 6 last start when tackling a 3YO only contest and did not receive the smoothest run to the line when 7m from the winner BANGKOK DEEJAY. A strong winner when racing first over the start prior, she continues to step up and can take another progression here.

BAKER CREEK (1) was a winner here six starts back when sent to the front from gate 5 and in charge of proceedings was able to see it out for a narrow win. Wider gates and easing at the start in each run since, she secures the opportunity to capitalise on the ace to throw down the challenge.

SHEREACTS (3) fired off the arm from gate 1 last start and was trying to fight them off when grabbed in the latter stages and forced to settle for the silver. She may need to do it tough to feature here.

THERESACHANCE (4) made a charge down the back stretch last start and hit the front when trying to bust it open but was out of bullets halfway up the home running, holding on for 3rd. He is a podium player again.

SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL LOU (9), BAKER CREEK (1), SHEREACTS (3), THERESACHANCE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DELIGHTFUL LOU (9) to win

RACE TEN

Starting at huge odds last start, LETTERKENNY BOY (6) was eased from a wide gate at the mile and could have been closer than the 7m margin with a gap arriving sooner than it did behind KING TRITON. Staying in the running line when the swoopers moved two starts back, the middle trip is in his favour.

FRANCO MACHO (2) was first up in Qld here last week when sent out a fav from gate 1 over the mile. Keeping them wide with a steady opening half, he was collared in the closing stages up the passing lane by KING TRITON. He steps up to the middle trip and the added fitness will assist.

OYSTER STRIDE (1) faded last start over the mile after settling handy in the run but unable to go with them when the power went on. From the gate, he should get the ideal trip to chime in.

IM JIMMY JAMES (8) will be requiring a slice of luck to see some space at some stage as he looks in danger of being buried. A winner at this trip three starts back, he will be probing for an opening.

SELECTIONS: LETTERKENNY BOY (6), FRANCO MACHO (2), OYSTER STRIDE (1), IM JIMMY JAMES (8)
SUGGESTED BET: LETTERKENNY BOY (6) to win
