The start of race one was delayed when GOOD GRACIOUS ME refused to load and ANXPENSE broke through the barriers, undertaking a lap of the track at full pace. Both GOOD GRACIOUS ME and ANXPENSE were declared late scratchinggs at 1:50pm by order of the stewards. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in these runners be refunded with the following deductions to apply.

>           25 cents in the dollar for place of winner # 9
>           25 cents in the dollar for 2nd place # 7
>           25 cents in the dollar for 3rd place # 3

MIGHTY ROLLER Replacements as per Stewards Summary.

Following the running of race one jockeyys Beau Appo, Nathan Evans, Apprentice Micheal Schrapel and Apprentice Nicholas Keal, expressed concerns with future riding engagements due to the safety of the barriers and the competency of the barrier attendants. Stewards spoke to all riders both separately and together, and it was concluded that all riders were of the opinion that the barriers were structurally safe but the firing mechanism needed adjustment. Stewards allocated the starter, Mr I Henderson, time to resolve the issue, and after doing so, Stewards and Jockeys were satisfied that the barriers were in safe working condition. Following this decision, Apprentice N. Keal was still of the opinion the barriers were not in a safe working condition and was subsequently replaced on all engagements for the remainder of the day.

RACE 2: PB AGRIFOOD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100m

The start time of race two was delayed due to the starter adjusting the barriers. The start was further delayed due to the ambulance attending to a patron. Race two was run at 3:30pm.

HEZA CHUMLEY Broke through the barriers, galloped 200m, restrained by its rider before returning to the barriers. A veterinary examination passed the gelding fit to race.

GO GET SOME Reared at the start and lost ground.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey T. Banks a view of the patrol footage. After viewing the footage, Jockey Banks made application to the stewards for GO GET SOME to be declared a non-runner on the grounds that the starter should have delayed the start to allow the horse time to settle. After taking evidence from Jockey Banks and Starter, Mr I. Henderson, stewards were of the opinion that Mr Henderson was not at fault and the horse became fractious after the gates had opened. Subsequently stewards dismissed Jockey Banksss application and declared the horse a runner.

Following the running of race two, Apprentice M. Schrapel, Jockey N. Evans and Jockey B. Appo expressed further concerns regarding the condition of the barriers. All three riders were subsequently released from the remainder of their riding engagements. Amendments as per stewards summary.
