Race 1: TAB QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1200M
 
REAL FINE WINE – Slow into stride after making contact with THREE PHASE on jumping. Made the turn into the straight wide.
 
SASSY ENUFF – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SNAPPY REPLY – Laid outwards over the final 100m.
 
THREE PHASE – Bumped on jumping.
 
GEORGIE’S PRIDE – Had to be eased approaching the winning post when SEE MARIE shifted out.
 
SEE MARIE – Slow to begin. Laid in from the 100m and shifted out abruptly approaching the winning post.
 
BRIGHT COPPER – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
M. Du Plessis was kicked near the right knee while unsaddling SEE MARIE after the race and was taken to hospital.
 
Following the running of the race R. Maloney was examined by the Club doctor and certified unfit due to a knee injury.
 
Riding replacements for M. Du Plessis and R. Maloney were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
The track was upgraded to GOOD 4 retrospective to this event.
 
Race 2: MILLERS SWIM SCHOOL BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 2200M
 
CABOCHON LIL – Slow into stride and then raced three wide in the early stages.Cast the near hind plate.
 
POPULIST – Raced keenly in the early stages and shortly after passing the winning post the first time eased when racing tight to the inside of CALIBRATION, which was carried inwards slightly by GRAND SHANGHAI. As a result of this POPULIST got its head up and proved difficult to settle, shifting outwards across the heels of CALIBRATION, and then continued to prove very difficult to settle until near the 1400m. Laid inwards under pressure over the final 200m.
 
MISHANI SCOUT – Raced wide throughout.
 
ROMAN DOLL – Raced keenly in the early stages. Eased near the 100m when tight to the inside of CABOCHON LIL, which shifted outwards slightly when ROYAL ATOM shifted outwards momentarily.
 
SKY ONE – Carried inwards near the 100m by POPULIST, which was laying inwards under pressure.
 
Race 3: MOUNT FRANKLIN OPEN H'CAP – 2200M
 
RAQEEQ – Got its head up when racing keenly in the early stages.
 
ILWENDO – Mis-strode and lost ground passing the 150m.
 
BROCSON – Shifted in and away from ERIC THE EEL near the 350m and in so doing became awkwardly placed on the heels of MR GARCIA, which then shifted outwards, resulting in BROCSON being crowded and blundering.
 
Race 4: LEXUS BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1600M
 
DOWNLOADING – Bumped outwards on to another runner at the start.
 
LE DUDE – Trainer G. Boyd advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Attempted to go forward, however after being caught wide was restrained and settled in a midfield position. Bumped at the start. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
TESARC – Bumped on jumping.
 
LI’L RODGE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LA PULGA – Laid in over the final 100m.
 
COASTAL PRINCE – Laid in in the straight.
 
DUKES COUNTY – Jumped outwards at the start, bumping DOWNLOADING out on to LE DUDE. Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
JUNCTION – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
LA JUMENT – Bumped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
MONACO SNOB – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: XXXX DRY CLASS 6 PLATE – 1050M
 
FIRSTHAND – Slow to begin.
 
MANIAS – Bumped with PIZONIE at the 600m.
 
ONE STRYKE – Laid in over the final 200m.
 
ROYAL WITNESS – Laid in over the final 100m.
 
TRUCULENT – Over the concluding stages was momentarily steadied off the heels of ADORADANCER, which rolled outwards.
 
LOVE YOU LUCY – Sustained an injury in the float, underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the course, was found to have minor abrasions on the off stifle and nearside hip and was passed fit to run.
 
PIZONIE – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages. Bumped with MANIAS at the 600m.
 
Race 6: CHANDON F&M BENCHMARK 78 H'CAP - 1350M
 
TIME TO PLAY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until the 100m.
 
SIENNA ROSE – Extremely slow to begin.
 
RED STINA – Extremely slow to begin.
 
HOLD ON – Laid outwards making the turn into the straight. Returned having cast its off fore plate.
 
KITTY DAMOUR – Returned having cast its off hind plate.
 
JOYMAKER – Extremely slow to begin.
 
Race 7: KIRIN NO METRO WINS H'CAP – 1200M
 
BOGEY MAN – Near the 500m was momentarily steadied off the heels of ANNATIME, which shifted outwards.
 
ALL PLUCK – Slow into stride after being inconvenienced by MR ATTITUDE, which jumped outwards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to race again.
 
MISS BENETEAU – Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: ASCOT CHILDCARE & KINDY C,G&E BENCHMARK 78 H'CAP – 1350M
 
The starting time of this race was rescheduled to 5:00 pm to allow repairs to be made to the barriers.
 
TISANI MAGIC – Steadied off the heels of PEACOCK which shifted in near the 800m.
 
PEACOCK – Raced wide throughout.
 
FABULONH – Bumped at the start.
 
LUCKY PROSPECTOR – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
 
FORTIFICATION – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MOTION GRANTED – Jumped awkwardly outwards, making contact with MAGIC FOX.
 
MAGIC FOX – Blundered on jumping and then was bumped shortly after by MOTION GRANTED, which jumped awkwardly outwards.
 
KEEP ON LOVING YOU – Raced three wide throughout.
 
PARKO – Jumped outwards at the start, making contact with FABULONH. Laid outwards under pressure over the final 200m.
 
Race 9: NUTURF QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1350M
 
The starting time of this race was rescheduled to 5:37 pm as a result of the amended starting time of Race 8.
 
GUNTANTES – Changed stride near the 800m when racing ungenerously. Eased down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than that the gelding had returned having lost its near fore plate. Apprentice N. Keal reported that the horse was not striding out and therefore he eased his mount down. Trainer R. Heathcote advised that the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
THE SINNER – Pulled hard in the early stages. Raced three wide from the 600m.
 
VANNA GIRL – The off fore plate was refitted behind the barriers. Checked approaching the 1000m when racing to the inside of RAGING POLE, which was carried inwards by LOVE EXPRESS, which was taken inwards by STAMPE. S. Cormack, the rider of STAMPE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in at that point, and his licence to ride in races was suspended for 7 days, to commence at midnight on Wednesday 1 April and to expire at midnight on Wednesday 8 April 2020.
 
DAWSON DELIGHT – Restless in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. Jumped away awkwardly.
