General:
As G Steele was ill, riding changes were made as per the Race-day summary sheet. G Steele was advised she must obtain a medical certificate prior to resuming race riding.
As this meeting was postponed from Saturday 17th February, the race starting times were amended as follows: Race 1: 1.00pm; Race 2: 1.35pm; Race 3: 2.10pm; Race 4: 2.45pm; Race 5: 3.20pm; Race 6: 3.55pm
Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE 1030 Metres
ECHELETTE – slow to begin. Shifted out and made the home-turn awkwardly.
HEIRSROC – raced wide for majority of the event. Inconvenienced rounding the home-turn.
LADY LIGHT – began awkwardly and lost ground.
Race 2: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1030 Metres
MASTER DENHRO – slow to begin. Raced wide early stages of the event.
LAST ROUND – laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 3: OPEN HDCP 1030 Metres
Correct weight delayed to allow App D Graham, rider of second placegetter Klammer, to view the photo finish image for second. After doing so correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
KLAMMER – raced wide for majority of the event.
ALL HOST –slow to begin
FLAVIAN – tightened for room and obliged to steady approaching 700m
MUSIC SCENE – rider L McCoy reprimanded under AR137(a) for allowing her mount to shift in approaching 700m and tighten another runner.
Race 4: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres
Due to a malfunction with the phot finish computer for this race, placings were judged from the official DVD replay.
IRISH WINE – began awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
MUNEEFAJAM – proved difficult to load. Trainer S Burns was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of the gelding.
Race 5: Ratings 0-50 HDCP 1350Metres
LEADING STORY – after racing in a rearward position was eased by its rider over concluding stages. A post-race Vet examination of the mare failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer T Dougall indicated LEADING STORY would now be retired, however was advised if circumstances were to change the mare must trial prior to its next race start.
THAT PRETTY GIRL – jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
BALLINA BAY – steadied near the 800m.
Race 6: Benchmark 65 Cup 1350 Metres
WINNING ACCORD – forced wider on the track near the 900m
PICK OF THE PUBS – slow to begin. Forced wider on the track near the 900m.
OUR CLARKY – shifted out near the 900m to improve resulting in runners to the outside being taken wider on the track.
ADJOURNED – weakened from the 400m. Rider M Cox stated after striking a damp patch on the track at the 400m the mare dropped the bit and failed to travel from that point on. A post-race Vet examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
