GENERAL
 
As G. Geran and T. Brooker were indisposed due to injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: AGRICULTURAL REQUIREMENTS GATTON QTIS 3YO BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1100M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of ROCKY GAMBLE, placed equal 2nd by the Judge, to view the photo finish image.
 
SHAKIRA – N. Tomizawa reported that the filly was disappointing and that he could offer no explanation for the performance. Trainer B. Currie was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the performance, however undertook to inform stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed small lacerations to both hind legs.
 
PRINCESS SNOWY – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PROSSIMITA – When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance, trainer J. Anderson advised that although the gelding raced greenly and was forced wider on the home turn at its previous start at Ipswich, she was not disappointed with its performance on that occasion. She added that since then the horse had pleased her in its work leading up to this event and she had expected a forward showing. She further added that in her opinion the horse performs better on tracks other than Toowoomba and indicated that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
 
TWO PLUS TWO – Raced four wide without cover until weakening leaving the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
TAABINGA – As the horse had raced at Ipswich on Friday 16 February, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 2: MCNEIL FARMS GATTON MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M
 
GILDED LION – Slow to begin. Held up leaving the 100m, shifted in in an attempt to secure clear running, however was unable to be fully tested to the line. Apprentice J. Murphy reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
DREAM CAPTAIN – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
SIREEANNA – Bumped with another runner on jumping away. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid in in the early parts of the home straight.
 
HAVEN SUGAR – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
LUCKY’S LIL GIRL – Bumped with another runner on jumping away.
 
Race 3: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL ROSEWOOD MAIDEN H'CAP – 1600M
 
OUR MATE TURTLE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MADAM MAHAL – Taken wider near the 600m and raced three wide from that point onwards.
 
WENDOUREE RED – Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
COURTING SPIRIT – Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
WAKOOL – Had to be steadied momentarily on entering the home straight.

PEXBURY AVENUE – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer G. Cornish was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. Apprentice R. Ride was reminded of her obligations regarding the use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 4: NIKKI CHALK ART & DESIGN BENCHMARK 58 H'CAP – 2000M
 
ANSWERED – Improved to a three wide position near the 1500m when the pace eased and then was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position in the lead near the 1300m.
 
USENA – Shifted out to a three wide position near the 950m and was then allowed to stride forward to a position in the lead at the 800m. Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
Race 5: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING – JASON DIETE 0427031470 BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 860M
 
SNIPPET OF HOPE – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
SWIFT REPLY – Bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the second time on which the horse has bled, it will now incur a mandatory lifetime bar from racing.
 
SET WAIT – Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: LAIDLEY CUP BURGESS PARK GATTON SAT 24TH MARCH CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1100M
 
MAXWELL – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
WHISTLINDIXIE LAD – Raced three wide without cover.
 
ABI’S THE ONE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
LADY VIDIA – Slow to muster early speed.
 
Race 7: MARQUEE PACKAGES BOOK @ IPSWICHTICKETS.COM.AU/EVENT/6467 CLASS 2 PLATE – 1400M
 
DREAMSCOPE was a late scratching at 8:40 am for veterinary reasons.

PORTSEA – Laid out in the home straight.
 
DUBLEO’S LAD – Raced three wide with cover.
 
MONACO MIRACLE – Raced three wide with cover.
 
RUNAWAY RULER – Steadied momentarily when racing on heels near the 600m.
