OLD TRIESTE - Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1000m, steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of WARFACE. Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
WARFACE – Bumped at the start.
 
JETS CRACKER - Over-raced during the early stages.
 
RACE 2: Hickey Lawyers F&M Class 2 Handicap – 1100m
1st: Just Imagine 2nd: Miss Parkin 3rd: Swiss Love 4th: Vital Love
 
SWISS LOVE - Began awkwardly. Held up upon straightening.
 
VITAL LOVE - Lost ground near the 900m when placed in restricted room to the inside of MISS PARKIN and again near the 500m when placed in restricted room to the inside of JUST IMAGINE. Jockey B Grylls reported that the mare resented racing to the inside of other runners.
 
DIAMONDS ON RUBY - Near the 200m steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MISS PARKIN. When questioned regarding the performance, App. M Shimodaira noted that the mare was first up from a spell today and as such would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance.
 
MISS PARKIN - Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
RACE 3: Royal Dynasty Class 5 Handicap – 1400m
1st: Awake the Stars 2nd: Shoreline 3rd: Eljetem 4th: Scoutabout
 
Acting on veterinary advice MOSS GO NOW was a late scratching at 1:07pm.
 
ELJETEM - Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
Jockey A Allen (AWAKE THE STARS) was fined the sum of $300 for returning to scale in excess of the permitted ½kg.
 
RACE 4: Horse Feng Bloodstock Ltd Class 1 Handicap – 900m
1st: Willowbrook Wonder 2nd: Bullion Belle 3rd: Dubawi Sniper 4th: Star of Pompeii
 
STAR OF POMPEII - Slow to begin and then hung out during the early and middle stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
COSMOS SEVEN - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
AVASA - Jockey B Ainsworth reported that the mare raced greenly throughout and in doing so lost ground passing the 600m.
 
BULLION BELLE – It was reported that the mare cast its near fore plate in running.
 
Jockey A Allen (BULLION BELLE) was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Allen’s good record in relation to whip use.
 
RACE 5: Beijin Pegasus Land QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st: Reindeer Moon 2nd: Great Powers 3rd: Victory Star 4th: Northern Dragon
 
WILHELMINA – Slow to begin.
 
NORTHERN DRAGON – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
JESSINA – Began awkwardly.
 
PENTAFORMANCE – Slow to begin. Hung out throughout and proved uncompetitive. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. The trainer was advised that an official trial will be required prior to the filly’s next start.
 
TAABINGA – Approaching the 900m steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of JIMMY’S BIKE which shifted in marginally.
 
VICTORY STAR – Near the 900m steadied when tightened for room between ABLE FUN and TAABINGA which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
 
ABLE FUN – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
RACE 6: Jasmine Room Maiden Handicap – 1200m
1st: Brad be Bold 2nd: All Gifts 3rd: National Flag 4th: Alma Bubbles
 
Acting on veterinary advice OTTOS BROTHER was a late scratching at 11am. A veterinary clearance must be produced before the gelding’s next race start.
 
TAHITIAN SUNSET - Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
VILLA RICA BELLE - Bumped at the start.
 
BRAD BE BOLD - Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of mild heat stress.
 
ALMA BUBBLES - Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
DUELLATOR - Began awkwardly.
 
RIMMSKI - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Bumped by NATIONAL FLAG near the 300m.
 
PEAK HILL - Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
HIGH SECRET - Held up during the early stages of the home straight.
 
NATIONAL FLAG - Bumped RIMMSKI when improving into a narrow run passing the 300m between DUELLATOR and RIMMSKI.
 
RACE 7: Aquis Chinese Jockey Club BenchMark 62 Handicap – 1800m

Stewards accepted Trainer C Andersons explanation for the late declaration of App. C Bayliss as the rider of SUBSOLAR.
 
Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer A Plumb to declare BARRAAJ a late scratching at 1:37pm due to the earlier track upgrade.
 
TIARNAN - Slow to begin. Shifted out to improve leaving the 1200m and was obliged to race 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
SUBSOLAR – Steadied from heels near the 1500m.
 
RACE 8: QIJI Bloodstock Class 1 Handicap – 1400m
1st: Oneness 2nd: Shinnecock 3rd: Captain the World 4th: Charming Prince
 
Trainer L Gough was fined the sum of $100 for the late declaration of Jockey A Allen as the rider of SHINNECOCK.
 
CHARMING PRINCE - Slow to begin. Over-raced during the early stages.
 
REAL CLASSIC - Slow to begin. Near the 1300m shifted in abruptly of its own accord and made contact with the running rail.
 
PRINCESS ELLE - Bumped at the start.
 
CAPTAIN THE WORLD – Began awkwardly and bumped PRINCESS ELLE.
 
ONENESS - Bumped at the start.
 
LAUDERDALE - Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.
