From BRC @ Eagle Farm Official Trials 10.4.18:
 
Heat #3, 1000m: ANOTHER SLIPPER bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the first occasion, the stable was advised that the horse will now incur a 3 month ban from racing and must gallop 1000m before being permitted to race.
 
Heat #9, 800m: TRUBIA bled from one nostril during the event. Trainer M. Lakey was advised that the gelding must gallop 1000m prior to racing.
 
From Deagon Track Work 10.4.18:
 
Trainer M. Lakey reported that WILLOWBROOK WONDER bled from one nostril during track work. Mr Lakey was advised that the filly must gallop 1000m prior to racing.
 
From Toowoomba 7.4.18:
 
Race 2, Class 3 Plate – 2000m: Trainer B. Baldwin confirmed that AUDREE would now be retired form racing following the poor performance.
 
Race 1: CITY OF IPSWICH QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
ALPINE DANCER – Had to be checked when bumped shortly after the start. Had to be checked near the 900m when tightened for room.
 
INVINCORE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early stages and shifted out near the 1000m.
 
MOSS CHEVAL – Hampered on jumping when taken in by another runner. Raced keenly in the middle stages. M. McGillivray reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
NARDA SHAR – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SOXAGON – Hampered shortly after the start when taken in by another runner. Shifted in when racing greenly near the 900m.
 
ADORADIVA – Shifted in on jumping, tightening runners to the inside. Apprentice A. Fancourt reported at scale that she momentarily lost the use of the reins approaching the 200m.
 
BUB’S GOLD – Had to steady away from heels near the 1000m and then shortly after shifted in abruptly.
 
LILIERO – Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
QUANYIN – Had to steady away from heels near the 850m. Had to steady away from heels approaching the winning post.
 
Race 2: SWIFTS SPORTS CLUB QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
ACCUMULATED – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start. Commenced to pull hard after being crossed by STARKERS near the 900m and had to be restrained. Shifted in near the 800m when pulling hard and had to be steadied away from heels.
 
HARDLY TOUCHED – Commenced to pull hard after being crossed by another runner near the 800m, shifted out and had to be restrained from heels for some distance. Shifted out when racing greenly approaching the 400m. Trainer K. Schweida informed stewards that in his opinion the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit during the race and it is his intention to experiment with different gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the off hind cannon.
 
PERFECT AIM – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, taking SECRET’S SAKE in on to the hind quarters of ACCUMULATED. Had to steady away from heels near the 1000m. Raced wide after leaving the 800m.
 
STARKERS – Jumped awkwardly.
 
ESKDALE GIRL – Raced wide without cover throughout. Raced greenly in the straight.
 
GOWAY GIRL – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SECRET’S SAKE – Jumped awkwardly and then was checked shortly after the start when tightened for room. Finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg and a laceration to the near fore cannon. Connections were advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
Race 3: URBANE MARKETS @ SWIFTS SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
HENRY’S AFFAIR – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse had bled from both nostrils. Trainer T. Thomas was advised that the horse would be ineligible to start for 3 months, and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
LORD OF THE DREAMZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than that the gelding had cast the off hind plate.
 
JEN FROM MYERS – Had to be steadied off heels near the 900m.
 
GARLAND – Connections advised that it would be the intention to have the filly ridden with cover. The horse was ridden at the tail of the field.
 
OUR NETBANK – Jumped awkwardly.
 
RABBIOSA – Apprentice A. Fancourt reported at scale that her mount overraced in the early stages.
 
Race 4: IPSWICH HEALTH & PERFORMANCE MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M
 
The start of this race was delayed significantly when LILAKAI and SHE’S RELIABLE were difficult to load. Connections of LILAKAI were advised that a warning would be placed on filly. Trainer K. Schweida was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate before SHE’S RELIABLE is allowed to start again.
 
RIDGWAY – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start. J. Lloyd reported at scale that the horse never travelled well and was under pressure prior to the home turn and as a result he eased it out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer D. Vandyke was advised that the horse will be required to trial prior to its next start. Mr Vandyke advised that the horse will be sent for a spell and will be gelded before it races again. A swab sample was taken from the horse.
 
RECKLESS CHOICE – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped the hind quarters of RIDGWAY.
 
SHOOT FOR REAL – Shifted out abruptly away from heels when pulling hard approaching the 800m. Forced wider near the 300m.
 
SHE’S RELIABLE – Had to ease away from the heels of RIDGWAY near the 300m when that runner was eased out of the race.
 
ACTION D’IMPULSION – Commenced to weaken after passing the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting an upper respiratory noise. Trainer B. Dais was advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, will have to be provided before the horse races again.
 
Race 5: DRUMMOND’S SECURITY SERVICES BENCHMARK 62 H'CAP – 2200M
 
GODZONE GIRL – Shifted in near the 1300m and tightened the runner to the inside. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
SCARLET POET – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Allowed to stride forward and race near the lead near the 1000m. T. Brooker reported at scale that she regained the use of her whip near the 100m after it became entangled in the mane.
 
ANSWERED – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
GET OUTA UTAH – Bumped by the runner to the outside near the 1300m. Briefly tightened for room near the 500m.
 
Race 6: WEEKEND RACING 5TH & 7TH MAY CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1700M
 
READY FOR DANGER – Tightened for room after leaving the 1400m and lost ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.
 
SONIC SWISH – Shifted out near the 1600m and made contact with the hind quarter of ROBBERS COBBER.
 
ROBBERS COBBER – Bumped on the hind quarter near the 1600m.
 
LA CHATTE – Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 1300m.
 
MYSTERIUM – B. Stewart reported at scale that he was disappointed in the efforts of his mount, adding that whilst it normally likes to lead, the gelding did not travel well throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer C. Jordan was advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, will have to be provided before the horse races again.
 
HALFETI – Shifted in slightly and away from ROBBERS COBBER after leaving the 1400m, tightening the runner to the inside.
 
STRIKE SIKA – Had to check off heels near the 1300m. Raced in restricted room from the top of the straight until after passing the 100m.
 
Race 7: LABOUR DAY RACING 7TH MAY CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1100M
 
Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was fined $200 for the late declaration of Andrew Spinks as rider of BLUE SEATTLE.
 
TABBING, which laid down and became cast in the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 2:56 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on TABBING be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:56 pm:
 
5 cents in the dollar for the win #5
8 cents in the dollar for place of winner #5
5 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #7
 
Connections were advised that TABBING would require a further barrier certificate before being permitted to race again.
 
The start was further delayed when all runners were removed from the barriers after TABBING became cast. LOVERBOY CHARLIE, which was drawn to the outside of TABBING, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run.
 
LOVERBOY CHARLIE – Slow to begin.
 
CADOGAN – Jumped awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 500m and shifted back to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
DIVINE MESSENGER – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
SI SI SEQUALO – Jumped awkwardly. When questioned regarding her tactics, apprentice H. English stated that she was instructed to lead on the gelding at all costs, as she had done at its previous start at Doomben, as it was the opinion of the stable that the gelding does not appreciate racing behind horses. She added that approaching the 800m, when Ms Harrison on LET’S PARTY MARTY was reluctant to move to the fence, she then realised that if she raced outside LET’S PARTY MARTY, she would be forced to race in a three wide position. Trainer P. Duff confirmed the instructions.

Race 8: FREE FAMILY FUN DAY F&M RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
SPERANZA, which reared over in the barriers and dislodged its rider, was declared a late scratching at 3:31 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on SPERANZA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 3:31 pm:

Trainer M. Wilson was advised that SPERANZA will require a further barrier certificate before being permitted to race again.
 
MAGIC INK – Steadied off heels near the 600m.
 
ROSES OF JOY – Shifted out on jumping and made contact with another runner.
 
BOASTING – Taken in by another runner shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Shifted in near the 1000m, making contact with another runner, and became unbalanced.
 
TOORAK COMEDY – Raced wide throughout.
 
ZILITOR – Bumped on jumping. Shifted in when being steadied near the 1100m and had to be restrained off heels. Raced wide without cover. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
Race 9: FREE ENTRY, FREE FAIR GROUND 7TH MAY C,G&E RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
STORMY BENZ was a late scratching at 1:30 pm when trainer B. Hudson reported that the gelding had sustained an injury prior to being loaded onto the float. Mr Hudson was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
KING LEAR – Slow to begin.
 
BALEARIC – Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted out near the 300m, making contact with another runner.
 
KARAHARAGA – Had to check off heels passing the 800m.
 
SURE DEAL – Raced wide without cover.
 
CANALASSO – Jumped awkwardly.
 
BIDZIIL – Bumped and then had to be steadied away from heels near the 300m.
 
HENRY’S ON COURSE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 10: LEG’S & EDDIES DAY 5TH MAY RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H’CAP – 1350M
 
RICH AFFAIR – Had to steady off heels near the 800m.
 
PLAN RED –Slow to begin. Had to steady away from heels when tightened for room near the 1100m. Had to be checked near the 100m. Apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester, the rider of RICH AFFAIR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that at that point he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of PLAN RED. Apprentice Guthmann-Chester’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 14 April and expire at midnight on Monday 23 April 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account apprentice Guthmann-Chester’s plea of guilt and that the interference was in the low range.
 
PARK CHINOIS – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover.
 
MIA’S GOT CLASS – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.
 
SNOW FIELDS – Had to steady near the 150m when racing in restricted room.
 
TRISTAN DE ANGEL – Bumped on jumping. R. Fradd reported at scale that his mount lost ground after passing the 1100m and was reluctant to improve at that stage of the race.
