GOSSIAUX – When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, apprentice A. Sewell advised the horse travelled well throughout, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and he felt that this could be attributed to the heavy track conditions.

MYMMING - Trainer S. Kendrick s was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.

On return to scale a protest was lodged by apprentice C. Bayliss, rider of the 2nd placegetter, PRINCESS CAVALLO, against MYMMING being declared the winner, alleging interference   near the 400m.  After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, it was established that whilst PRINCESS CAVALLO had suffered interference at this stage of the race, stewards were satisfied that the incident had been instigated when OUR NETBANK shifted out, forcing PRINCESS CAVALLO out on to the hind quarters of MYMMING, causing that horse to commence to lay in.  Stewards agreed when laying in MYMMING had had a bearing on the incident, however was not considered the sole contributor to the incident.  In addition to this, stewards could not be satisfied that the interference suffered by PRINCESS CAVALLO was sufficient to reverse the three-quarters of a length margin between the runners at the conclusion of the event and therefore  the protest was dismissed and the Judge’s placings confirmed.

SPRING CREEK – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with SHOWY LADY. Bumped by another runner near the 400m. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

SHOWY LADY – Bumped heavily at the start.

MAY I SAY- Slow to begin.

TESTA DONNA – Shifted out near the 400m, bumping another runner. Inconvenienced by another runner approaching the 350m.

OUR NETBANK – When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, jockey Fancourt indicated that the horse raced quite greenly throughout the event, shifting both in and out when racing outside the lead. She was of the view that the disappointing performance could be attributed to the horse having its first start on a very rain affected track as the horse did not travel comfortably when asked for an effort after leaving the 600m.  Stewards will interview trainer Mr T. Gollan, who was not present at the meeting.

Race 7: Queensland Timber Flooring Class 4 H’cap – 1200m

BAUHINIA SID – Brushed the gate as it left the enclosure.  Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to take its place in the field. Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

8 Cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
