MONACO SNOB – Lost the near fore plate in running.

STAR ECHO – M. Hellyer reported that his mount wanted to hang out in the home straight.

TRAVISTEE – Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount wanted to hang out in the home straight.

Race 2: BEACH BAR AND GRILL MOOLOOLABA CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1200M

DELAWAR – Held up between the 400m and the 200m.

ALL NATURAL – Commenced to give ground quickly approaching the 200m and collapsed on the track. T. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

ON A HIGH – Hung in from the 600m.

LAVINGTON STAR – Overraced in the early stages. Held up between the 400m and the 200m.

Race 3: STAYNOOSA.COM MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

TIME PASSES – Slow into stride.

EVER THE OPTIMUS – Held up for some distance in the early part of the straight until obtaining clear running near the 200m.

PREQUEL – Raced three wide with cover.

REAL MACHINE – Bounded on jumping and lost considerable ground. Overraced in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover.

SINISTER PRINCESS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

Race 4: NOOSA TRUSS QTIS 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

LOTUS LEAF – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running for a major part of the home straight.

MAY I SAY – After being caught three wide, was ridden forward to find a position outside the lead near the 800m.

TOP GLAMOUR – Began slowly and lost considerable ground.

MISSY MUSKETEER – As apprentice J. Woodhouse was to be overweight, apprentice C. Bayliss was substituted as rider. Apprentice Woodhouse was fined $200. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that apprentice Woodhouse would have been 2kg over his declared riding weight.

CINZIA – Began awkwardly.

OUR ESPOSITO – Steadied near the 1300m when crowded by TOLAI MERI, which shifted in away from SOUL SECRETS.

FIRST WITNESS – The right side winker became detached near the 300m.

Race 5: NOOSA ON THE BEACH RESORT BENCHMARK 80 H'CAP – 1400M

SPUR LE JOUER – Slow into stride. Improved on to the heels of tiring runners when inclined to lay in and was held up for some distance after the 200m.

GET OUTA UTAH – Raced four wide before eventually improving to a three wide position without cover from the 800m.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.

Race 7: ACCOM NOOSA QTIS 3YO C&G MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

COUNTRY LUCK – Pulled hard in the middle stages, had to shift out to avoid heels and as a result raced three wide without cover.

GOSSIAUX – Held up on straightening and then when endeavouring to improve into a run was disappointed when that run closed near the 300m and was then held up until the 200m before being shifted out.

CURRUMBIN CRAFT – Raced three wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to race outside the leader near the 850m. Rider D. Brown reported that the horse overraced badly from that point and would not settle. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

RIVER BOY – Overraced near the 1100m.

Race 8: BEACH BAR AND GRILL MOOLOOLABA MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M

Stewards accepted trainer D. Heinemann’s explanation for the late scratching of SPEEDY ECLIPSE at 10:15 am.

After viewing the stewards patrol footage, apprentice T. Williams, the rider of SHOWSCAY, placed 3rd by the Judge, lodged an objection against FAVULICIOUS (L. Tarrant) being declared the winner, alleging interference between the 250m and the 50m. After viewing the videos and taking evidence from all parties, stewards were of the view that after the 200m SHOWSCAY was slightly inconvenienced when FAVULICIOUS shifted in, and then again near the 100m, when a further run presented itself, SHOWSCAY was again inconvenienced marginally when FAVULICIOUS shifted in near the 50m. Whilst stewards conceded that SHOWSCAY was momentarily impeded on two separate occasions between the 200m and the 50m, they were not of the view that the extent of the interference exceeded the length margin between 1st and 3rd and therefore dismissed the objection.

PROPENSITY – The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare bled from both nostrils. Under the provisions of AR. 53A the horse will be ineligible to start for 3 months, and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.

BIRDY O’REILLY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Checked to avoid the heels of AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR whilst weakening near the 150m when that runner shifted out away from PROPENSITY, which itself shifted out after being bumped by DOOM (D. Browne). Whilst stewards conceded that both PROPENSITY and AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR shifted out further than they had to, they were of the view that the initial shift of DOOM was the cause of the shift of those two runners and therefore D. Browne was reprimanded for the manner in which he allowed his mount to shift out at that point.

Race 9: NOOSA TIGERS AFC C,G&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M

APPRECIATED – Tightened on jumping.

COOCHIN BOY – Steadied momentarily when crowded slightly just after the 200m.

Race 10: VARIETY QLD & ROD KEMP MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1800M

FAST ARROW – Slow to begin.

REAL MYSTIQUE – After beginning well and being trapped three wide, the mare was allowed to stride forward and obtain the lead near the 1400m.

I FEEL GOOD – Slow to begin. Held up on the heels of CALL ME RUSTY just prior to straightening and after initially shifting to the inside, then shifted to that horse’s outside and was then placed under pressure but was inclined to hang in under the whip.

Race 11: STAYNOOSA.COM CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M

BEAUDACIOUS – Eased down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer K. Schweida advised that the mare would be sent for an immediate spell and before then a decision made on its future racing career. The horse will be required to officially barrier trial before being permitted to start again.

RANCHO MONTOYA – Slow to begin.

SILVER SCREEN – Jumped awkwardly.
