Race 1: Compass Institute QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
JENO – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
NASA – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout, and near the 250m shied away abruptly from another runner and became unbalanced.
 
DEJANOVA – Slow to begin. Shifted out and away from another runner near the 250m.
 
TRUST IN ALOHA – Shifted out on jumping away and bumped THRASHER.
 
THRASHER – Slow to begin and then was tightened for room when TRUST IN ALOHA shifted out.  Apprentice J. Huxtable was fined $100 for raising his whip hand above shoulder height. He was also reprimanded for applying his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
THE DIAMOND – Held up rounding the home turn and steadied from heels.  Bumped by another runner and became awkward near the 250m.
 
MY BOY SOOTY – Laid in throughout the event and near the 250m shifted out abruptly away from another runner.
 
CHAMPAGNE TROUBLE – Heavily bumped by another runner near the 250m and had to be checked.
 
 
 
Race 2: Cricks Maiden H’cap – 1000m
 
RED RIVER – Slow to begin.
 
LYRICAL GIRL – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Was unable to muster early speed.
 
MAILLOT JAUNE MOI – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
KOKOPO KITTY – A veterinary examination of the horse, which made an abnormal respiratory noise post race, revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: Compass Institute QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
WICKED FREDDY – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the course  and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
BEFANA – Became fractious in the enclosure and was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced greenly throughout. 
 
DARING BELLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn. Rider dropped his whip over the concluding stages.
 
EXPERT EYE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MISHANI PATRIOT  – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
GALA RAIN – Jumped away awkwardly and raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
SCANDINA – Raced wide.
 
MEMORIAL DAY – Raced wide.
 
MISS MAGNOLIA – Apprentice J. Huxtable reported he had concerns with the horse’s breathing during the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 4: Garland Waddington Benchmark 78 H’cap – 1400m
 
CORAL BAY – Jumped away awkwardly. Improved onto heels rounding the home turn and had to be steadied before shifting back towards the inside near the 400m in order to secure clear running.
 
FABULONH – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RED CHASE – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which raced keenly in the early stages and hung out from the 900m finishing last, revealed  no abnormalities.  Trainer D. Forster indicated on return to scale the horse had its tongue over the bit, and added that in light of today’s performance she would remove the blinkers from the horse’s gear and experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie.
 
 
Race 5: Compass Institute Benchmark 72 H’cap – 1200m
 
COASTAL BOY – Slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages. Jockey L. Tarrant reported to stewards it had been his intention to race in a forward position, however the horse was slow to begin after being slightly fractious in the barriers and he  was obliged to settle in the second half of the field.
 
SIR MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
BOOM BOY – Overraced whilst being restrained for a short distance passing the 800m.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Overraced in the early and middle stages and was checked from heels near the 500m.
 
PRECIPITATE – Whilst being held up approaching the home turn blundered near the 500m.
 
 
Race 6:  D & C Masters Class 1 H’cap – 1200m
 
SHOPPING PARADISE – Slow to begin. Tightened for room near the 900m and lost ground.
 
FEARLESS QUEEN – Slow to begin. Then inconvenienced shortly afterwards by LUVACTION, which shifted out.  Raced wide and was then placed in restricted room near the 500m.
 
CLAIRVUE SPIRIT – Slow to begin.
 
LOGSPLITTER – Placed in restricted room to the inside of LUVACTION near the 900m and was obliged to steady.  Jockey D. Smith, rider of  LUVACTION, was reprimanded for this incident.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Raced wide throughout without cover and was obliged to be press forward after passing the 800m in order to secure a position closer to the fence.
 
ROCK TOUR – Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn.
 
BIG BUDS – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 7: Compass Institute Class 5 H’cap – 1600m
 
LUCKY JACKSON – Slow to begin.
 
OCEAN WAVES – Was restrained in the early stages in order to take up a trailing position in the second half of the field.  Overraced whilst racing in restricted room near the 1300m. Continued to overrace until passing the 1100m.
 
LE DUDE – Overraced whilst racing in restricted room near the 1300m.
 
SID – Checked when passing the 400m when placed in restricted room between CERTAIN DOUBT and WHODUNNIT, which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.  Stewards inquired into this incident and placed a warning on WHODUNNIT.
 
HENRY’S ON COURSE – Obliged to restrain from heels near the 1300m and shifted widder on the track, as a result raced wide for the majority of the event without cover.  
 
 
 
Race 8: Secure Access Benchmark 62 H’cap – 1000m
 
DUELLATOR – Bumped by METALLURGIST on jumping away.
 
METALLURGIST – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with DUELLATOR.
 
MORION – Jumped in the air when the start was effected.  Overraced after being crossed by another runner near the 700m. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
SIMPLY SO – Slow to begin.
 
OUR SWAN LAKE – Jumped awkwardly, becoming unbalanced and almost dislodging its rider.    Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CLEAR THE BILL – Overraced near the 800m.
 
GRACE OF MONACO – Raced wide.
 
CLEVER MISS – Raced wide.
 
VILLENEUVE LADY – Raced wide without cover.
 
DREAMALINA – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 9: Compass Institute QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
FAY CONQUERS ALL – Which was fractious in the barriers, reared and lost ground at the start.
 
TALES OF THE HEART – Slow to begin.
 
ENDLESS MSYTERY – Slow to begin. Pulled hard in the early stages and shifted wider near the 800m to avoid heels and as a result raced wide from that point onwards.
 
MAS DINERO – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
MONSTER OF POWER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and near the 400m had to be steadied from heels as a result.
 
TOP RULER – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 10: Brightaire Property Services Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
The start of this race was delayed  when a section of the on-course lighting failed.
 
STONEFISH - The start of this race was further delayed when the horse lunged forward at the barriers. Underwent a veterinary examination before being cleared to start.
 
MA’CHANEL – Overraced in the early stages and near he 1200m became awkward and shifted in abruptly.  Raced greenly for the majority of the race.
 
CLASSIC PEARL – Raced wide without cover  and was inclined to lay in throughout the event, placing its rider at a disadvantage in the home straight.
 
ST JUST – Raced greenly throughout the event, particularly under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 11: Just Better Care Class 1 Plate – 2200m
 
The start of this race was delayed when a section of the on-course lighting failed prior to the running of Race 10.
 
TRUST ISSUES – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ITSALLKAY – Bumped and lost ground on jumping away. Became awkward on heels shortly after the start and was steadied. Approaching the 1800m commenced to overrace, shifted 3 wide and was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1600m.
 
TAKEITTOTHELIMIT – Jumped awkwardly and bumped ITSALLKAY.
 
MULHOLLAND MAN – Was forced wider near the 1600m and was obliged to race 3 wide from that point onwards.
