When questioned regarding the filly leading in today’s event, jockey A. Sewell stated it was his intention to settle off the pace today, but after jumping well he was able to find the lead without making use of his mount, however, when placed under pressure in the home straight his mount weakened noticeably and was disappointing in its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
