BUSH VERSION - When Jockey J. Felix was unable to fulfil his engagement, due to personal commitments, stewards permitted Jockey D. Green to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Passing the 500 metres had to be momentarily steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

HENASAR - When Jockey P. Cullen was to be overweight, Jockey M. Morris was substituted. Jockey Cullen was fined $100 under A.R. 120(b).

BRAUHAUS - Slow to begin.

OUT OF THE BLUE - Slow to begin.

Jockey S. Kaya pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that rounding the first turn, near the 1200 metres, he allowed DRAGON HART to shift in when insufficiently clear of DASH OF BLACK (D. Simmons), which had to be checked to avoid its heels. Jockey Kaya's licence to ride in races was suspended for 3 North Queensland meetings, to commence immediately and to expire at midnight on Saturday next, 4th July 2015.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the tactics adopted and the riding of BEG PARDON. Jockey F. Edwards explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position. He said that after being fractious in the barriers, the horse missed the start by some 4 lengths, and as a result he then allowed his mount to settle in a rearward position. He added that throughout the middle stages he travelled in a 4 wide position as he was of the belief that the going to the inside was inferior, and although he was aware that he was a considerable distance off the second-last horse, he elected to remain racing in that position, as he was of the opinion that if he rode the gelding along in the downhill section of the track it would have become unbalanced in the going. He said for this reason he allowed his mount to straighten and balance up before placing it under pressure, and the gelding ran home strongly. Trainer C. Lindgren confirmed the instructions issued. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed.
