GENERAL:

As jockey D. Smith was not riding at todays meeting due to personal reasons he was replaced as per steward’s summary.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the following rider was permitted to ride his respective mount over its allotted weight.

Race 4, Rose Of Athens – A. Abe + .5kg @ 56kg.

Race 1: FLYNN CIVIL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100 Metres

SUPER DANCER – As the gelding had not raced for a long period of time, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the early stages.

WITTSTOCK – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

HALF EVIL – Slow to begin.

DEVILSPREDICTION – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from thumps. Trainer P. Rowe was advised a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Race 2: BJS PLUMBING & CIVIL CONTRACTING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP –
1000 Metres

BUWAN – Kicked by another runner behind the barriers. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start.

GINGER BEER – Slow to begin.

BRAVE MISSILE – Slow to begin.

EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Shifted out on jumping making heavy contact with AMELIA’S RAINBOW on two occasions shortly after the start.

AMELIA’S RAINBOW – Bumped heavily on two occasions shortly after the start and lost ground.

CADENCE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.

SOLOMON – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

FILLY SLATER – Laid out rounding the home turn shifting wider.

Race 3: THE CREMA CART BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres

HIT SNOOZE – Over-raced in the early stages.

AKILEOS – Raced fiercely in the early stages.

EVIL EYE MAC – Disappointed for a run leaving the 200 metres and shifted out slightly clipping the heels of GRAZIE and blundered.

LUSHAN – Raced wide in the early stages.

ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Race 4: TABLELAND AGRICULTURAL SERVICES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 Metres

MAGNATE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FIRST SLIP – Slow to begin.

KOHEETO – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping AHRI’S AMORE.

AHRI'S AMORE – Bumped on jumping. After racing wide in the early and middle stages was forced wider near the 600 metres and checked near the 400 metres to avoid the heels of
REBEL REIGN which shifted out.

REBEL REIGN – Took charge of its rider near the 600 metres and hung out shifting to the outside running rail inconveniencing AHRI’S AMORE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A. Holmes was advised the gelding must compete in two consecutive trials to stewards satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again.

BRAVIO – Laid in approaching the 200 metres bumping FAST ENOUGH. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FAST ENOUGH – Bumped by BRAVIO which laid in approaching the 200 metres and became momentarily unbalanced.

Race 5: THE KAIRI HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

CONQUERING JUDAS – Slow to begin.

SOGNI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FRONT PAGE NEWS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LET'S RUNAWAY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

ARAWELO – Rider S. Wilson advised the gelding did not travel in the early stages and was reluctant to stretch out which he attributed to the blinkers being off for the first time to which he advised the trainer. Trainer G. Horner confirmed S. Wilson comments and further added he will experiment with a further gear change for its next start. When questioned as to his tactics approaching and rounding the home turn rider S. Wilson stated that when unable to obtain a run to the inside he elected to wait until the gelding straightened and was balanced before shifting wider to the outside and further stated ARAWELLO only finished the race off fairly. Stewards noted his explanation.
