RACE 1: GLENLANDS DROUGHT MASTERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M
ONEHUDREDCLICKS - Raced wide throughout.
RACE 2: FIELDS & FRAZER PRODUCE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
ALLOJO - Slow to begin.
ZIPPING ALONG - Began awkwardly.
SEACITY - Raced wide throughout.
I’M LADDIE'S MISS - Hung out throughout and shifted wider on the track. As the filly was having its first start, a warning was issued.
BILLIONS - App. N. Morton was reprimanded for using her whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
GUSTAVUS VASSA - On return to scale jockey C. Bryen reported that the gelding raced flat today and proved disappointing. He added that in his opinion the horse may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer W. Baker also expressed disappointment with the performance and advised that he will have his vet inspect the horse following today’s event and will report the result of this examination to Stewards.
RACE 3: PINAROO SANTA GERTRUDIS/ARCADIAN ORGANIC & NATURAL MEAT CO CLASS B HCP 1200M
NAVAL BELLE - Was declared a late scratching at 3:04pm by order of the Stewards after the mare refused to load into the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on NAVEL BELLE be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
First- 0 cents the win, 6 cents the place
Second- 7 cents the place
Third- 5 cents the place
Trainer D. O’Brien was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for NAVAL BELLE prior to it next racing.
SIR CLISBY - After being loaded into the barriers broke through the front gates however was quickly restrained by its rider and returned to the barriers where it was examined by the veterinarian and deemed fit to take its place in the field. Raced wide throughout.
FASTPITCH - Slow to begin.
CONTINUITY - Jockey C. Bryen was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
RACE 4: LANDMARK/GODSELL’S TRANSPORT CLASS 3 PLATE 1300M
ZA BUBBLES - Raced wide throughout.
AUSTRAIAN VENTURE - Raced wide throughout. Jockey B. Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge under AR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Jockey Richardson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days commencing at midnight 28th March 2016 and to expire at midnight 4th April 2016. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Richardson’s poor record in relation to this rule and severity of the breach on this occasion.
RACE 5: S DELFORCE/G SULLIVAN TRANSPORT MEATANT CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1300M-
Trainer T. Austin was fined $100 for failing to scratch SECRETS and IVANHOE by the prescribed time.
BARCELONA BOUND - Slow to begin. Checked when placed in restricted room near the 800m. Disappointed for a run near the 200m and lost ground.
CRAWFISH - Slow to begin.
EIGHT SKIRTS - Rider dropped whip near the 300 metres.
