Race 1: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 55 HANDICAP - 1000 metres

C. Bryen was permitted to ride FERRIGNO 2.5kg overweight. Stewards took into account mitigating circumstances and he was fined $100 AR120 (b).

There was a delay to the start as R. Achini the rider of DESTINO STRADA was dislodged on the way to the barriers and the gelding jumped the outside running rail. On being re-captured the horse was cleared to race after veterinary advice. Jockey R. Achini was uninjured during the incident and cleared to ride.

FERRIGNO was a late scratching at 1:45pm after refusing to load. Trainer C.Rogers was advised the gelding would need a barrier certificate clearance prior to racing again. Deductions were given with correct weight as 8cents in the dollar of the win bet and 10 cents in the dollar of the place bet.

LAST PARDEE – Contacted at the start.

GO SAI – Travelled wide in the early stages.

FINNIGAN’S FOLLY – Contacted heavily at the start.

DESTINO STRADA – Jumped away awkwardly contacting runners either side.

SPURSYN – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages with no cover.




Race 2: WESTERN FREIGHT LINK OPEN PLATE - 1200 metres

LANSDOWNE ROAD – Slow to begin.

CRYSTAL MATES – Travelled wide in the early stages.

CUMANI – Travelled wide for the majority with no cover.

Race 3: BARCALDINE VETERINARY SERVICES BM 50 - 1300 metres

C. Bryen was permitted by stewards to ride BAY HERO 2kg overweight and was fined the sum of $100 AR120(b).

TAYSTAR – Travelled wide.

BONTEMPELLI – Slow to begin and travelled wide for the majority with no cover.

PUNTERS JOURNEY – Fractious prior to jumping then jumped outwards making contact with outside runner.

ICE MELODY – Riding tight approaching the 800m shifted out slightly tightening an outside runner.

BILLY JAY – Approaching the 800m shifted in slightly tightening inside runners.

BAY HERO -- Racing in restricted racing room approaching the 800m was tightened by runners either side, was eased and lost his rightful position in the race.


Race 4: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 45 HANDICAP - 1200 metres


SHAFTSMAN – Was slow to begin and slow into stride.

STRIKE ZONE – Slow to begin.
