Race 1: NAB MAIDEN PLATE 3YRS & UP SET WEIGHTS - 1090m

The start was delayed when METALLIC POINT reared up in the parade ring and dislodged its rider, App J. Philpot was examined by ambulance officers and was cleared to fulfil her engagement.

INFINITE MISS – Stood flat footed and lost ground.

COME ON HUSS – Began awkwardly.

ALROE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

On return to scale App J. Philpot became ill and had to be attended to by ambulance officers. App Philpot was subsequently transported to hospital and must provide a medical certificate prior to riding next. Riding replacements in races 2 and 4 were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.



Race 2: MYOB CLASS B HANDICAP - 1090m

THE YES MAN – Slow to begin. Jockey J.Missen reported after being slow to begin placing him at the rear of the field, the gelding failed to respond to his riding. J.Missen further added he was very disappointed with the overall performance and in his opinion it could be attributed to not handling the soft sand track conditions. Post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

ALADEAN – Slow to begin. Rider reported the gelding got its tongue over the bit during the race.

MOKKIE MAGIC – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

TEN TO LIFE – Began awkwardly, shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.



Race 3: THE ULTON CUP OPEN HANDICAP WEIGHTS RAISED 1.5KG - 1212m
BJORN – Raced wide throughout.

KIARA QUEEN – Raced wide was inclined to hangout rounding the turns. Trainer W. Melvin indicated to stewards the mare would now be going for a spell.

Jockey A. Badger was fined $100 under AR137A(3) for using her whip excessively in a backhand manner.


Race 4: DLV FINANCE/MORGANS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 1380m

GOOD RAP – Began awkwardly and raced greenly.

CELTIC DRAGON – Raced wide throughout.

FAST AND THORNY – Rider reported the gelding resented the kickback.

GET LOOSE - Had to be steadied near the 1100m when tightened for room, Jockey J. Missen rider of a KLISNROC, was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear.

App L. Dodds was fined $100 under (AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip in a forehand manner on more than the number of permitted occasions.
