General: Following heavy rain (approx. 38 mls) between 11am and 12 noon a significant amount of surface water was present on inspection of the track at 12:15pm. In consultation with club President Mr Richard Hayes, advice from track curator Mr David Deans, and jockeys riding at the meeting, stewards deferred a further track inspection until 1:45pm to allow an opportunity for track conditions to improve and remedial work to be performed on a section near the 800 metres.  Upon inspection at that time, the track was found to be unsafe for racing and the meeting was abandoned at 2pm.
