Race 1: EAST END HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 850M
STARBEATS – Jockey M Cox was permitted to ride the filly 0.5kg above its advertised weight. Slow to begin
BRILLIANT MISTAKE – Began awkwardly
LOOSE UNIT – Bumped on jumping
AGUERO – Raced three wide throughout
CLAPPIN STICK – Raced four wide throughout
MANDOLIN MANNI – Raced five wide throughout
Race 2: SEA FM BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1090M
MAMBO MISS – Jockey M Cox was permitted to ride the mare 0.5kg above its advertised weight. Post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a laceration to the off foreleg that required stitching. Trainer T Hess was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness would be required prior to racing again.
SNITZIOLA – Fractious in gates and reared up. Was removed from the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination and subsequently was cleared to start.
Bumped on jumping. Passing the 800m had to be checked when tightened for room and lost significant ground to the inside of MAMBO MISS which was taken in by MASTER DENRHO which shifted in after becoming unbalanced when bumped by I AM MCLOVIN. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards issued a reprimand against jockey M Crawford for this incident. In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of mitigating factors which contributed to the incident.
I AM MCLOVIN – Raced four wide in the early stages
BYRON BABE – Raced five wide in the early stages. Jockey K Gates was reprimanded for her use of the whip prior to the 100m which exceeded the amount permitted. In determining penalty Stewards noted her good record in relation to this rule and the totality of whip use for the entire race.
Race 3: RUM CITY FOODS OPEN HANDICAP 1090M
ALL HOST – Began awkwardly and shifted out
MIDNIGHT CURFEW – Bumped on jumping
HOPETOUN STREET – Raced three wide throughout
JEBS BOY – Raced four wide throughout
Race 4: CRAFTY RENTAL & HARDWARE CLASS B HANDICAP 1212M
DAVEY – Began awkwardly
FIRST REGRET – Raced wide throughout
OUR HAPPY RAIN – Hampered on jumping
NEED A WARRANT – Hampered on jumping
Race 5: BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT MEN OF LEAGUE RACES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1380M
NASTY GAL – Declared a late scratching at 8.20am on a report from trainer L Wanless that the mare was lame in the off fore foot.
Trainer L Wanless was advised a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to racing again.
