WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SOFT 7/SOFT 6 AT 10 AM/SOFT 5 AFTER RACE 4 RAIL – TRUE

GENERAL

As M. McGillivray and E. Ljung were currently under suspension and R. Payne, B. Stewart, A. Taylor and E. Ljung were riding in Rockhampton and D. McIntosh was not riding at today’s meeting, riding changes were made as per the stewards summary sheet.

Due to the non arrival of the ambulance, all races were rescheduled back one race time, with Race 11 to start at 5.29 pm.


Race 1: Anzac Ultimate Marquees QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1100m

MAGIC GLOW – Jumped very awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier gate, resulting in rider L. Cassidy becoming unbalanced in the saddle.

LIKE A RULER – Jumped very awkwardly and made contact with another runner.

GET OUTA UTAH – After being slow to begin was hampered shortly after the start.

MEMPHIS GIRL – Raced greenly in the early stages.

LUCKY SHOW GIRL – A warning was placed on the horse which proved difficult to load into the barriers. Raced 3 wide without cover.

MISHANI REDMAN – Raced wide throughout.


Race 2: Anzac Ultimate Marquees QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1100m

SHEZA HOTTI – Withdrawn at 8.46 am by order of stewards after receiving a report from the Integrity Regulatory Unit that the horse had received race day treatment. An inquiry into the circumstances was opened. Evidence was taken from trainer Ms Y. Day, members of the IRU and the matter was adjourned. A swab sample was taken from Sheza Hotti.

HIGH COST – Jumped very awkwardly.

TAIYOSHIN – Jumped very awkwardly. Hung out badly from the turn at the 700m. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed mild lameness. Trainer J. Dann notified that a veterinary clearance would be required for the gelding prior to its next race start. 10/4/15 Trainer reported that the gelding has pulled up shinsore and will be going out for a spell.


COUNTER MEAL – Hung out and became awkward at heels near the 600m.

PONTY – Raced 3 wide without cover.


Race 3: Beaudesert Soft Drinks Maiden Plate – 1300m

As J. Kokotajlo was delayed due to transport difficulties, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of Calendar Babe.

DIABLO NERO – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn.

THE FRANKSTAR – Slow to begin.

SPECIAL DIVOT- Slow to begin.

GEIGER BABY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, bumping another runner heavily.

CALENDAR BABE – Bumped heavily at the start. Inconvenienced when taken wider by The Frankstar near the 500m.

SCARLEE BLACK – Hampered soon after the start. Inconvenienced when taken wider by The Frankstar near the 500m.


Race 4: Beaudesert Soft Drinks Maiden Plate – 1300m

OUR LITTLE MISSY – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.

CZEBRAY – Jumped away awkwardly. Inconvenienced when taken wider near the 600m.

ODE TO LUCK – Jumped away awkwardly.

MISHANI ALLEGRA – Steadied from heels near the 700m and as a result shifted out.


CORONATION JOURNEY – Bumped on straightening by Pop Bubble.

HE’S A WAG – Shifted wider when overracing near the 600m.


Race 5: QPS Investment Group Maiden H’cap – 1050m

FOOTY SOCKS – Slow to begin.

DELASUN – Hampered at the start. Made the turn near the 600m awkwardly and then had to be restrained from heels.

STORM DRAGON – Carried extremely wide by runners to its inside shifting out abruptly near the 600m.

SKY FELLOW – Hung out badly rounding the home turn and in the straight.


Race 6: Trade Alliance Class 1 H’cap – 1050m

As D. Griffin was indisposed after riding in Race 1, J. Lloyd was substituted as the rider of Sunfast.

As C. Maund was indisposed, J. Orman was substituted as the rider of Dazet.

FRIENDLY TRADITION – Slow to begin.

GOHARDASUN – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and approaching the 600m improved on to heels and had to be checked.

SECRET PROCESS – Inconvenienced when held up from the early part of the straight until near the 100m.

DAZET – Hung in badly in the home straight.

BAFFLE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.


Race 7: Trade Alliance Class 1 H’cap – 1050m

Jockey T. Treichel was substituted D. McIntosh as the rider of Beyond The Storm.

WIGGLE WIGGLE – Jumped away awkwardly.

CUT UP – Inconvenienced at the start. Whilst stewards were satisfied it did not affect the finishing position of the horse, rider R. Wiggins was nevertheless reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the finish.

BELDAN – After being a little slow to begin was severely hampered soon after the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.

BEYOND THE STORM – Disappointed for clear running on straightening.

GREENBOW – Had to be steadied when shifting out abruptly on straightening to find clear running.

AEROSTAR – Rider J. Taylor could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. Trainer N. Doyle advised he would have blood tests taken from Aerostar and undertook to trial the horse prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 8: Anzac Day Races ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1650m

MONSIEUR HUGHES – Began awkwardly. Struck the running rail and became unbalanced passing the winning post on the first occasion.

BOUND TO GLORY – Improved onto the heels of Monsieur Hughes and had to be checked after passing the winning post on the first occasion.

PHANTOM WHISPER – Raced 3 wide without cover.


Race 9: Railway Hotel Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1200m

HENNY’S HERO – Declared a late scratching at 2.58 pm on veterinary advice.

SIR BLAZE – Declared a late scratching at 2.17 pm on veterinary advice.

ROMAN SECRET – Slow to begin.

CHOC MOUNTAIN – After obtaining the lead, then overraced in the early and middle stages.

CHEATIN’ CHARLIE – Inconvenienced near the 700m when forced wider for a short distance.

KID TYCOON - Inconvenienced near the 700m when forced wider for a short distance.


Race 10: Beaudesert Times Class 4 H’cap - 1100m

NEPTUNE PALACE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon after striking a rail upright on leaving the enclosure and cleared to start.

CASH IN – Slow to begin.

LONG KISS – Blundered shortly after the start.



Race 11: Barrier Reef Pools Class 2 H’cap - 1100m

LIGHTNING DRIFT – After being boxed, lunged forward striking its head. The horse was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Raced 3 wide throughout.

WARNING SIGNAL – Slow to begin.

SEQUENTIAL CAT – Slow to begin. Shifted out soon after the start and bumped another runner.

VO TREASURE – Bumped by another runner soon after the start.

TRUE PRINCE – Steadied when crowded slightly near the 400m.
