Race 1: TAB QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M

BIGSHOW LITTLETENT – Slow into stride and lost ground.

BON HENRY – Restrained to a rearward position after being caught three wide and overracing in the early stages.

GOTTA BE FIRST – Shifted in near the 1300m and bumped LAST EDITION on the hind quarters, turning that runner in.

LAST EDITION – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 1300m and turned in.

ALAN ALAN STEVE – Inclined to hang in when placed under pressure over the final 150m.

MAMA SAYS – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 2: TAB MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow P. Timbery, the rider of 2nd placegetter GAME SET MATCH, to view the photo finish image for 1st. After doing so, jockey Timbery indicated that he was satisfied with the Judge’s placings.

IDIDITMYWAY – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 600m and the 400m.

JILLERETTE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Slow into stride.

WEWANNAWINNA – Began awkwardly and shortly after was bumped by IDIDITMYWAY.

Race 3: TAB QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M

AMITORI – Began awkwardly and shifted in, tightening runners to the inside.

CHRISTMAS CREEK – Stewards accepted trainer C. Munce’s explanation for the late declaration of S. Galloway as rider.

IGNITE THE MAGIC – Tightened on jumping. Raced three wide throughout.

SARA MAN – Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and tightened ZOFGOLD.

THE DEMTEL MAN – Raced three wide throughout.

KATY BOOM – Tightened on jumping.

LIGHTNING MOLLY – Trainer B. Robinson advised that he had instructed the rider to be positive out of the barriers and to obtain a forward position if circumstances permit. After being bumped on jumping the horse was unable to be ridden forward as preferred. Tightened between runners near the 1200m and as a result relinquished its position two off the fence. G. Colless, the rider of SHEINDLIN, was advised to exercise greater care when attempting to cross runners.

LIPS – Began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with LIGHTNING MOLLY

SHEINDLIN – Shifted in on several occasions near the 1200m.

TAVEUNI – Began awkwardly and shifted out, tightening runners to the outside.

ZOFGOLD – Inconvenienced on jumping and lost ground.

Race 4: DERBY DAY TICKETS ON SALE NOW CLASS 4 PLATE – 1300M

COLPO DI TAMBURO – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.

BOBBY AXELROD – Began awkwardly.

MISS SEVERINA – Stewards accepted trainer T. Edmonds’ explanation for the late declaration of J. Taylor as rider. Overraced in the early stages and raced three wide with cover.

Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1400M

CALIFORNIA SPYDER was a late scratching at 1:35 pm for veterinary reasons. Trainer B. Ahrens was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

THE GROOM – Momentarily tightened for room approaching the home turn by THEY CALL ME ROSE, which shifted in, and had to be steadied.

THEY CALL ME ROSE – Shifted in near the home turn. Cast the near fore plate in running.

WASHINGTON STREET – Slow into stride and shortly thereafter was tightened between KOZARSKA and TEMUJIN’S MOON and lost ground. Forced three and four wide between the 1100m and the 800m.

COURT RULES – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in bumping TEMUJIN’S MOON. Bumped on two occasions between the 200m and the 150m.

TEMUJIN’S MOON – Bumped on jumping and forced inwards. Inclined to lay in over the final 200m, bumping COURT RULES, and proved difficult to ride over the concluding stages.

BLUE MONTE – Improved on to the heels of KOZARSKA when overracing near the 1100m and shifted wider on the course. Due to the horse overracing, the rider was then obliged to ease wider on the course to improve.

KOZARSKA – Overraced in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels.

Race 6: TAB BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP 1100M

I AM THE GENERAL – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.

ACCOUNTANT – Overraced near the 700m and shifted in, causing interference.

BALLINGALL LASS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S. Cole was of the view that today’s track conditions may not have suited the mare and he was disappointed with its performance.

PADDLES – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected and then was slow into stride. Raced three and four wide throughout.

MISHANI ROMAN – Slow into stride.

MISS SMINKER – Apprentice Adam Spinks was harmlessly dislodged en route to the barriers and was fit to ride. Checked and lost ground near the 700m when tightened for racing room by ACCOUNTANT, which was overracing and shifted in.

Race 7: TAB BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 1650M

MONASHEE RIDGE – Stewards accepted trainer K. Stabe’s explanation for the late declaration of L. Cheshire as rider. Cast a rear plate en route to the course which could not be safely refitted and as a result raced barefoot behind. A public announcement was made to this effect. Began awkwardly and shifted in. Overraced near the 1100m and was eased wider. Made the home turn awkwardly.

BUFFALO GIRL – Hampered on jumping and lost ground. Commenced to overrace near the 900m before improving three wide shortly thereafter, and was forced four wide when RITCHFORD shifted wider on the course to commence a run.

VOANABA – Obliged to steady for a stride when awkwardly placed at the heels of MONASHEE RIDGE on the home turn.

SPICER – Hampered on jumping and lost ground.

RESET’S SON – Forced wider near the 1100m and raced three wide until obtaining cover near the 700m.

MR KYLIN – Trainer B. Robinson advised that the horse would be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Overraced in the early stages. Obliged to steady when unable to improve near the 500m before shifting wider on the course entering the home straight.

MARLAHN – Raced three wide in the early stages before obtaining the lead near the 1200m.
