Near the 300m elected to move away from the rails in an attempt to improve between DE NOVA STELLA and MOZARTS MUSE, however, shortly thereafter was disappointed for the run when DE NOVA STELLA shifted out marginally and MOZARTS MUSE shifted in marginally thus obliging Jockey J Bayliss to stop riding and alter course to the inside of DE NOVA STELLA. Near the 100m when attempting to improve between DE NOVA STELLA and TENKAYE, again was disappointed for a run when DE NOVA STELLA shifted in and TENKAYE shifted out thus obliging Jockey J Bayliss to stop riding and alter course around the heels of DE NOVA STELLA in an attempt to obtain clear running. Stewards subsequently interviewed Trainer K Schweida and Jockey J Bayliss regarding the instructions issued. Trainer K Schweida stated that his preferred option was to either lead or take cover, however, after viewing the film and noting that the filly began tardily, was not surprised to see it settle further back than anticipated. Jockey Bayliss was also of the view that the filly was moderately away and he rode hard to occupy a forward position. Jockey Bayliss felt that whilst a run was presenting itself at the top of the straight, when he pressured his mount to improve between runners, the run closed. Jockey Bayliss also stated that he was disappointed for a run in the latter stages of the straight due to horses shifting marginally in the run to the finish. Stewards after considering the statements made by Trainer K Schweida and Jockey Bayliss and reviewing the film noted the explanations tendered. Stewards however also intend to review wagering of the event.
