GENERAL

As App O Pickering was not riding at todays meeting due to injury Stewards permitted rider changes as per Stewards race day summary.

Race 1: GLENFIDDICH AT AQUIS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres

Athena Nyx- Laid in under pressure down the running.

Frozen Prince- Bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 1000m. Laid out rounding the home turn. Momentarily steadied off heels passing the winning post.

Champagne Tastes- Shifted out under pressure passing the 100m. Laid in under pressure approaching the winning post momentarily hampering FROZEN PRINCE. Jockey S Collett was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

Four Mile Lane- Slow into stride. Post-race inspection revealed that the colt had indeed been gelded and was inaccurately reflected in form guides as a colt. As the gelding procedure had occurred prior to the gelding ever racing no other action was taken other than to direct Trainer T Button to amend the stable return to accurately reflect the horses status as a gelding and have the date of that return backdated to the date of the procedure.

Holy Trojan- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride before bumping.

She's Got Sass- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the official photo. After viewing the photo Stewards were satisfied with the semaphored numbers and declared correct weight on the Judges placings.

Race 2: JONKER AT AQUIS Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres

Ace In Time (NZ)- Difficult to load and delayed the start. Trainer D Duryea was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Momentarily raced keen on heels passing the 800m. Bumped the inside running rail passing the 600m, became awkward in its action and blundered dislodging its rider. Jockey G Walters was transported to Logan Base Hospital with a suspected injury to his right leg. Jockey Walters was advised he would require a medical clearance and a cognitive examination prior to again being permitted to ride in races.

Sip It Slow- Began awkwardly.

Bay of Dragons- After being fractious in the barrier was removed from the barriers and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, was subsequently passed fit to race.

Following the running of this event a track inspection of the 600m area was conducted and no issues were identified with the running rail or racing surface.

Race 3: BRAVE SMASH AT AQUIS Maiden Plate 1100 metres

Our Magnus- Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1:00pm after becoming fractious in the race-day tie ups and sustaining a laceration to its head. Tokyo Sins- Buffeted on jumping. Bumped passing the 1000m, raced greenly for a short distance thereafter. Improved onto heels having to be restrained passing the 600m.

King's Halo- Brushed passing the 300m, shifted in and bumped a further runner becoming momentarily unbalanced.

Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey T Brooker, the rider of the second placegetter KING’S HALO, against FABULOUS THINKER (Jockey T See) being declared the winner alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from all parties and reviewing the Stewards patrol footage, it was established that FABULOUS THINKER did shift in rounding the home turn and brush with KING’S HALO however, Stewards could not be satisfied this minor interference and the manner in which both horses closed the race off warranted a reversal of the placings and the protest was dismissed. Additionally, Jockey Brooker and connections of KING’S HALO viewed the official photo and after doing so were satisfied with the result. As such Stewards declared correct weight on the Judges semaphored placings.

Race 4: TAB Maiden Plate 1100 metres
