GENERAL
 
Trainer Todd Austin was fined the sum of $200.00 under the terms of AR227(a) Negligence, the negligence being he knowingly declared a rider on his runner Star Twinkle in Race 7 who would be well overweight and by doing this he prevented the rider from receiving other riding offers for the race.
 
The start of Race 3 was put back 25 minutes due to jockey John Rudd being transported to hospital for x-rays. All other races were put back 20 minutes.
 
 
Race 1: OPEN Handicap (1400 METRES)
 
KEDLESTON, slow away.
 
BURDEN, slow away and raced wide throughout.
 
TYCOON ZIP, fractious prior to the start, over raced in the early stages and worked to the lead near the 1100 metres.
 
GYPSY BIKER. slow away.
 
 
Race 2: KING’S RURAL CONTRACTING QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1400 METRES)
 
 
COZHECANCAN, was sent for a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities found. Trainer Toni Schofield believed COZHECANCAN may have had come to end of its preparation and it was her intention to send COZHECANCAN for a spell.
 
NO INUENDO, slow to begin.
 
LINE UP, raced wide throughout.
 
YULE MY HERO, fractious prior to the start.
 
TAKEN ON CHANCE, slow into stride.
 
 
Race 3: MAIDEN Plate (1200 METRES)
 
HE IS LUCKY, jumped inwards at the start.
 
HIGHLAND EAGLE, at the start was tightened between runners and checked and lost ground raced ungenerously throughout. Rider reported HIGHLAND EAGLE failed to handle the track throughout.
 
HYPE WIRE, was declared a late scratching at 1:10pm after dislodging the rider John Rudd in the mounting yard. Jockey Rudd was transported to hospital for further observation. Stewards order all bets on HYPE WIRE to be refunded in full and the following the deductions placed on all bets prior to 1:10pm were to occur:
 
0 cents for the win and 2 cents the place on the winner
4 cents on the second placing
7 cents on the third placing.
 
SHORT TAKES, jumped outwards at the start, shortly after the saddle slipped placing the rider at a disadvantage throughout the race.
 
 
Race 4: BARCOO FODDER AND FEED BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
AURIC GOLD, slow into stride.
 
FLASH FIBIAN, was declared a latescratching at 2:00pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice after showing signs of soreness in both hind legs and across the back region. Stewards order all bets on FLASH FIBIAN to be refunded in full and the following the deductions placed on all bets prior to 2:00pm were to occur:
 
0 cents for the win and 8 cents the place on the winner
12 cents on the second placing
9 cents on the third placing.
 
Trainer David Rewald was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness for FLASH FIBIAN before racing again.
 
SATINE, raced wide throughout.
 
AMADEO, proved difficult to load and was slow into stride.
 
ABSOLUTE GLORY, was declared a latescratching at 2:08pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice after showing signs of lameness in the off fore. Stewards order all bets on ABSOLUTE GLORY to be refunded in full and the following the deductions placed on all bets prior to 2:08pm were to occur:
 
0 cents for the win and 3 cents the place on the winner
7 cents on the second placing
4 cents on the third placing.
 
Trainer Brendan Richardson was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness for ABSOLUTE GLORY before racing again.
 
KARBORS, was bumped at the start.
 
MY FIXATION, raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: BARCOO FODDER AND FEED BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
VON SAGA, approaching the 800 metres had to steady for a short distance when crossed by another runner.
 
MANDEVILLE ROCKER, raced ungenerously throughout.
 
LASCO, raced wide throughout.
 
OLD TOWN ROAD, rider was reminded of her obligations to be clear when crossing other runners.
 
GONZO, showed no early speed.
 
PORTABELLE, showed no early speed and raced wide throughout.
 
FUNKY FARM, raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: NOEL ALLOM MEMORIAL CUP OPEN Plate (1200 METRES)
 
AMERICAN GENIUS, slow to begin.
 
EXPELLABLE, over raced in the early stages.
 
FULLY MAXED, raced wide throughout.
 
HEROISM, approaching the 900 metres was tightened for room between TOCCO D’ORO and NICK THE SKIP after TOCCO D’ORO shifted out marginally as a result had to be steadied and then over raced for some distance.
 
JARHEAD, raced wide for the majority.
 
LUBUK, slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 7: CLASS B Handicap (1050 METRES)
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK, began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride, rider reported the saddle slipped shortly after the start which placed him at a disadvantage throughout the race, and raced wide for the majority.
 
PRIZED ARTIST, slow to begin and raced wide throughout. It was noticed by a steward during the running of the race that PRIZED ARTIST race in the red earmuffs that were supposed to be removed at the barriers prior to the start. Jockey Tim Brummell stated barrier attendants tried to remove the earmuffs at the barriers but were unsuccessful. 
 
DEADIDIC, slow to begin.
 
STAR TWIKLE, raced wide throughout.
 
OSAKA SUNSET, began awkwardly and was bumped shortly after the start.
 
RIPOVA, dipped shortly after the start.
 
 
Race 8: CLASS 6 Plate (1050 METRES)
 
HALCYON HOUSE, shortly after the start had to be steadied after being placed on heels. Jockey Ric McMahon was issued a reprimand under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions (1 more than permissible) prior to the 100 metres.
 
NO REFUND, slow into stride.
 
PASS THE CARD, raced wide for the majority.
 
LONDON RULER, raced wide throughout.
 
MUSIC AWARD, raced wide throughout.
 
THE SNOOPERSTAR, slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
