GENERAL
Jockey S Sheargold was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR127 for being dual engaged.
Race 1: BOWEN TYRE AND MECHANICAL / LIBERTY FUEL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m
SHE’S MAGANDA- Shifted out and bumped with another runner on jumping.
LIGHTHORSE LAD- Dwelt in the barrier before being bumped by another runner on jumping.
ODDFELLOW- Marginally slow to begin.
BETTER DAYS AHEAD- Began awkwardly. Commenced to race keenly on the heels of another runner before shifting out passing the 700m and inconveniencing another runner. App A Donald was reprimanded as a result of this incident. Raced wide for the majority.
KEIGHLEY SUN- Inconvenienced passing the 700m when a runner to the inside shifted out.
MORATA- Tightened for room and obliged to restrain on entering the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
ZEBLAN- Forced wider rounding the home turn by another runner which was hanging out in turn tightening another runner. Obliged to restrain and shift in passing the 100m when tightened for room.
OYASHIO- Hung out rounding the home turn and tightened a runner to its outside. Jockey W D’Avila was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident. Shifted out marginally under pressure passing the 100m crowding another runner. Jockey W D’Avila was reprimanded as a result of this incident. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have dislodged its tongue tie in running.
PUMPS- Shifted in rounding the home turn tightening another runner. Jockey J Lyon was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident. Shifted in under pressure passing the 100m tightening another runner. Jockey J Lyon was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident.
Race 2: TICS GROUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
SCHATZI- Proved reluctant to proceed to the start. Trainer J Hatfield was advised a warning would be placed on the on the mares pre-race manners. Was declared a late scratching by Stewards at 2:05pm acting on veterinary advice after the mare was found to be lame in the left-hind cannon. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2:05pm:
23 cents in the dollar for the win
18 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer J Hatfield was advised *the mare would require a veterinary certificate of fitness before being permitted to race again.
MIKKI’S MISTRESS- Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with another runner.
HENSNIGHTOUT- Hampered by another runner on jumping. Hung out from the 600m and raced very wide rounding the home turn. Trainer J Campeao was advised the mare would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
Race 3: TROPICAL PACKAGING CLASS B HANICAP 1200m
PLUCKERCARN- Due to a clerical error the gelding was displayed as wearing blinkers in some form guides despite that piece of gear having been removed. Patrons were notified via on course announcement.
SASANQUAS- Slow to begin. Inclined to race ungenerously in the middle stages. Obliged to shift out around the heels of another runner to obtain clear running passing the 200m.
CONQUERING JUDAS- Obliged to steady after improving onto heels passing the 800m.
MBAPPE- Raced wide throughout.
OR ELSE- Raced wide throughout.
TICKET TO INDIA- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 4: WE3 GROUP OPEN HANDICAP 1470m
PROANE- Buffeted between runners on jumping.
HURRICANE FIGHTER- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to race keenly in the early and middle stages.
BEST HOFFA- Bumped with another runner on jumping.
HI ZERO- Inclined to race keenly down the back straight.
Race 5: HILLERY GROUP BOWEN CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1810m
NOIR JACK- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with another runner.
BATTLE- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with another runner.
EMPIRE GAMES- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Jockey P Cullen pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip 17 times, 3 more than permitted, throughout the event. Jockey Cullen’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence 15/10/2021 up to and including 21/10/2021. Jockey Cullen was advised of his right to an internal review.
QUEEN OF MANHATTAN- Hung out rounding the 1400m turn and again rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer A Molino was advised the mare would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
SCHAPPOSE- Trainer T Cook advised that connections were disappointed with the gelding’s performance and would now look to send it for a spell. Stewards noted the explanation.
