An enquiry was opened into the reason for Apprentice Ms I. Teh being dually engaged in Race 3 for Beau Epoch (Trainer - Master Ms S Acornley) and Madonnacan’tsing (Trainer D Reynolds).  After hearing an explanation from both Trainers, the Stewards ruled that Apprentice Teh was to ride her Master’s runner Beau Epoch.  Jockey C. Lennon was later engaged for Madonnacan’tsing.
 
Both Apprentice I. Teh and her Rider Agent Mr. M Hughes will be interviewed at a time and date to be fixed regarding the matter.
 
 
Race 1: RATINGS BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Ixelles – Slow to begin.
 
Koscina – Slow into stride.
 
Hero’s Choice – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Hung out marginally when leading making the home turn.
 
 
Race 2: BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Deora – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 metres
 
Didn’t Ask Me – Raced three wide throughout. Hampered at the 250 metres and again at the 100 metres when Act of Royalty to the inside shifted ground.
 
Flaming Asteroid – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Madonnacan’tsing – Jumped awkwardlyout onto the hind quarters of Beau Epoch.
 
Beau Epoch - Hampered at the 250 metres and again at the 100 metres when a runner to the inside shifted ground.
 
Act of Royalty – Shifted out when leading at the 200 metres and again at the 100 metres hampering runners to the outside. Apprentice J Doolan was obliged to stop riding and straighten the mare.  A warning was issued to connections regarding the mares racing manners.
 
 
Race 4: BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1280 metres
 
Malvagio – Slow to begin. A warning was issued to the connections regarding the gelding refusing to commence its preliminary on route to the barriers.
 
Headlander – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1470 metres
 
Due to heavy thunderstorm activity in the region this race was brought forward 10 minutes from its advertised starting time of 4:18pm to 4:08pm.
 
Little Ivy – Slow into stride.
