GENERAL
Due to T. Williams being injured, rider replacements were made as per the steward’s race day summary.
RACE 1 - EMERALD GRAINS CLASS B HCP - 1000m
HOT SCENT - Broke through the barriers twice, was restrained and returned to the start. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.
FIESTRY GIRL – Was tightened for rom at the start and lost ground.
DARLING BE GOOD - Jumped out at the start.
COMMANDING RULER – Jumped in at the start.
WHISPERING WINGS – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
CONMIGO – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
DANGEROUS DANICA – Laid in rounding the home turn.
RACE 2 - P B AGRIFOOD BENCHMARK 65 HCP - 1100m
MY MOVE broke through the stalls dislodging Jockey S Bayliss. MY MOVE then broke through the outside running rail and was subsequently withdrawn at 2.15pm by order of stewards. All monies invested on MY MOVE to be refunded and the following deductions are applicable to bets placed prior to 2:15pm:
1st – OMISSION - 4 cents in the dollar for the win.
1st – OMISSION - 7 cents in the dollar for the place.
2nd - BLOODED - 6 cents in the dollar for the place.
3rd - THE ROBBER - 7 cents in the dollar for the place.
Trainer S. McEwan of MY MOVE was advised that a veterinary clearance would now be required prior to the mare being permitted to racing again.
BLACKMORE VALE - Broke through the barriers on 3 occasions and was returned quickly to the start.
ITS ALL IRISH - Which became fractious in the barriers, reared up and dislodged Jockey R Goltz.
BLOODED - Made the home turn very wide.
No action was taken regarding horses breaking through the barriers as there was an obvious barrier fault. Starter I. Henderson reported to stewards that he made temporary repairs to the barrier stalls following race 2 to attempt to alleviate the problem of the barriers opening prematurely.
RACE 3 - RAY BUNCH MACHINERY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100m
BARNTOWN RULES - Attempted to buck on jumping away and shifted out sharply. Trainer S. McEwan advised that a warning would be placed on the horse.
DUPRE - Was bumped heavily by another runner shortly after the start. Bumped by another runner near the 600m.
COCOA POPS - Laid out in the middle stages contacting another runner.
DRAGON TALE - Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
RACE 4 - PACIFIC SEEDS/PURSE HOUSE RURAL CLIFTON CUP BENCHMARK 65 - 1580M
O’GRADY - Began awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start.
HOT TESTA - Reared on jumping away losing ground.
SIPPIN’ BUNDY - Inconvenienced when another runner shifted out at the 500m.
ARTISTIC CHOICE - Shifted out at the 500m.
ROYALTOWN ROAD - Hung out throughout the event.
I’M THE ONE - Over raced in the early stages of the event.
TOUCAN UKELELE – Jumped out at the start and then raced wide for the majority of the event.
RACE 5 - CLIFTON REAL ESTATE / FELTON PRODUCE MAIDEN PLATE - 1580M
RAPPELL was a late scratching at 8:30am due to no rider being available. Catch Jack, Laid Back Cat and Veloce Jay were all scratched by deadline time due to no riders being available.
LOOK I’M DANCING - Broke through the barriers, was restrained quickly and brought back to the start. Had to be eased near the 1300m when crossed by PROUDER. At a subsequent enquiry jockey B. Appo, the rider of PROUDER, was reprimanded.
GUN METAL GEORGE - Shifted in shortly after jumping away.
PRECIOUS EMBERS – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
PROUDER – Jumped out at the start making contact with another runner.
FAREWELL ANNA - Was slow to begin.
