Race 1: HAHN 3.5 SUPER DRY MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
ZAHA COUNTY (Appr. Ms M.Taylor) was hampered at the start by another runner.
The rider of HEARTOFTHEOUTBACK (J.Geppert) dropped his whip at the 400M point.
GUNS N GUITARS (Appr. L.Tilley) jumped out and made contact with another runner at the start.
IRISH DARK (Ms B. Richardson) travelled wide over the mid- late stages of the event.
SNIPPEN TRISH (D.Brown) was slow to begin and failed to go the early speed.
Race 2: PETER MOODY BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400M
ROAR ABLIBERTY (Appr. Q. Krogh) was tightened for room between GREENBOX (Appr. L.Tilley) and ROYAL REWARD (Ms B. Richardson) and lost ground.
LA CLOISONNE (S. Egan) jumped in and made contact with SIALIA MAGIC (Appr. S. Palmer). This resulted in SIALIA MAGIC losing some ground. SIALIA MAGIC travelled wide throughout.
Race 3: JEFFREY TUITE MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP
SATAN'S CHARIOT was declared a late scratching at 9:02am when no rider was available.
KOORAGAN LANE (Appr. Q. Krogh) had jumped in marginally at the start and made contact with another runner.
PHANTOMOFTHEOPERA (Ms. B. Richardson) was tightened for room between DIAMONEEZE (J.Geppert) and CONTRITE HEART (Appr. Ms. M.Taylor) at the 950 metre point and lost ground.
EXSTRATUM (Appr. S. Palmer) made contact with another runner on jumping and shifted out marginally over the final 100M.
ARCTIC RED (D. Brown) was slow to begin and travelled wide from the 400M point.
DIAMONEEZE (J. Geppert) began awkwardly.
NOVARUPTA (S. Egan) laid in under pressure over the final 100M of the event.
CONTRITE HEART dwelt at the start before jumping in and tightening another runner.
EXTRATUM and NOVARUPTA shifted ground over the final stages of the event.
Correct weight was delayed while the rider of the second placed horse NOVARUPTA Jockey S. Egan viewed the patrol film that was available. Jockey Egan stated he had no objections and Stewards then declared correct weight.

Race 4: GORDON LINES MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M
ARVAKUR (Appr Q. Krogh) was tightened for room between runners and subsequently lost ground.
STREET BATTLE jumped out at the start.
KEEP THE CURRENCY (J. Rudd) jumped out at the start and tightened runners to its outside.
GENNERAL NICK (J.Geppert) and HIGHWAY CHILD (Appr. Ms. M. Taylor) were hampered at the start by another runner on jumping.
The rider of STREET BATTLE advised stewards that had to ease off the heels of another runner approaching the 500Mpoint of the event.
ARVAKUR was examined by the attending Veterinarian due to its seemingly poor performance at today’s meeting resulting in no abnormalities being found. Stewards later spoke with Trainer Mr T. Austin who advised that the horse was expected to run well here today but appeared to be disadvantaged by the racing pattern after being tightened at the start during this event. Mr Austin stated that the gelding was unsuited by the track conditions today. Stewards accepted Mr Austin’s explanation and requested he monitor the horse’s condition over the next few days.
Race 5: XXXX GOLD NEWMARKET OPEN HANDICAP
POWERFUL JET (J.Rudd) blundered at the start and travelled wide over the final stages of the event.
IVANHOE (J.Geppert) was slow to begin.
SMOOTHTALKER (Appr.L.Tilley) knuckled over at the start.
TYPHOON (Appr. Q. Krogh) was tightened for room shortly after the start by another runner.
TYPHOON and SMOOTHTALKER bumped several times during the early stages.
Stewards spoke with Apprentice Jockeys Q. Krogh and L. Tilley regarding their mounts racing tightly and bumping together in the early stages of the race. Apprentice Krogh stated that his horse didn’t handle the surface at all today and shifted about during the event. Stewards accepted the rider’s explanation and advised them to ensure they take more care in the future.
Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr T Austin regarding the later rider notification on POWERFUL JET. Stewards accepted Mr Austin’s explanation and issued him with a reprimand under LR67.
