GOLDIES RETURN- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
GOLD BONANZA- Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track. Stewards questioned Jockey C Rogers in relation to her lack of vigour over the final 100m of the event. Jockey Rogers explained that as a result of the gelding hanging out badly rounding the home turn she dropped her near side rein placing her at a disadvantage some distance until she was able to regather that rein. Ms Rogers added that after regathering her rein she was reluctant to over pressure the gelding as she was concerned that horse may commence to hang out badly again and for the reason she only rode the horse hands and heels over the final 100m of the event. Stewards advised Ms Rogers in their opinion she erred in not placing her mount under more pressure over the final stages as it appeared the gelding was racing tractably at that point of the race. However bearing in mind the relevant circumstances and the manner in which the horse raced rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight, they did not feel Ms Rogers riding was unacceptable in the circumstances. Trainer E Jonson was advised that a warning would be issued against GOLD BONANZA.
Race 3: GALLIPOLI OPEN H’cap – 1000m
