Prior to declaration of correct weight, Stewards viewed the start of the event, whereby MISHANI PHAROAH dislodged rider app S Champkin when the start was effected.  After viewing the head-on patrol footage and taking evidence from both starter Mr I Henderson and app S Champkin, it was established prior to the start being effected MISHANI PHAROAH turned its head to the outside and into the adjoining stall, which resulted in app S Champkin becoming dislodged when the gates opened.  As such MISHANI PHAROAH was deemed to have not been afforded a fair start and acting under AR204(1)(c) the horse was declared a non-runner.  On the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on MISHANI PHAROAH to be refunded in full and deductions of 12 cents the win and 8 cents the place to apply face value of all winning tickets.  App S Champkin was examined by QAS staff and cleared to fulfil her remaining engagement.  MISHANI PHAROAH, which galloped riderless behind the main body of the field, underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormality.
