Race 1: CLERMONT RC APPRECIATION BENCHMARK 45 1000 METRES
BLACK JAGUAR – Raced wide throughout.
KURIL FOX – Raced wide throughout. Jockey M Abe was reprimanded for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Abe’s first offence.
MARRON CHEVAL – Fractious prior to the start.Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
ISIS JECTALE – App. D Graham was fined $300 for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account that this was App. Graham’s sixth offence under this rule.
MISS ESTER – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide throughout and shifted out under pressure down the home straight.
Race 2: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB QTIS BENCHMARK 60 1000 METRES
BOUND TO ME – Raced wide throughout. Forced outwards near the 200 metres by another runner. Trainer R Meek reported to Stewards that on returning to the race day tie up stalls the gelding had bled. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer R Meek was advised that BOUND TO ME is barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop over 1000 metres to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to returning to racing.
TADWEEN – Knuckled shortly after the start.
SIN TAN – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Shifted out under pressure and made contact with another runner near the 200 metres. Jockey N Nelson was reprimanded for shifting out when not clear to do so.
CACTOBLASTIS – Upon pulling up the breast plate broke resulting in the saddling slipping and dislodging Jockey K Aho. Jockey Aho suffered a head knock and was stood down by the race day ambulance officers. Jockey Aho was subsequently taken to Clermont Hospital for observation. Jockey Aho will be advised that she will require a medical clearance and must successfully complete a cognitive test prior to riding again.
PUMP ACTION – Slow into stride.
Race 3: VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION Maiden Plate 1200 METRES
FREEDOM ROCK – Jockey N Summers replaced Jockey M Barnham who was complaining of pain in his right elbow and forearm. Jockey Barnham was advised that he will need to obtain a medical clearance prior to riding again.
GALSHADOW – Proved difficult to load. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
UNUSUAL AUNT – Jumped outwards at the start. Raced wide throughout.
WEAGLES – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4:“YOUR NAME HERE” BENCHMARK 55 1200 METRES
ZENDAYE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout without cover.
SIZZLING SUN – Jockey N Nelson was reprimanded for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Nelson’s first offence.
MS WICKED NICCI – Tightened on jumping and as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
MICHELIN FIVE STAR – Jumped outwards at the start. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 5: WOODS TYRE SERVICE BENCHMARK 65 1400 METRES
ADDICTED – App. E Bell was reprimanded for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account that this was App. Bell’s second offence.
ARCHADE – Rider lost the whip near the 200 metres.
TANG DYNASTY – Raced three wide throughout.
THE DECKERAIDER – Shifted out near the 600 metres and raced wide for the remainder. Jockey N Nelson was suspended for using her whip on 19 occasions throughout the event. Jockey Nelson’s suspension is for a period of 7 days to commence on midnight 26 September 2020 and expire at midnight 3 October 2020. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account that this was Jockey Nelson’s first offence however issued a penalty in accordance with recently introduced QRIC whip use guidelines.
