GENERAL:

Prior to Race 1 all riders in attendance were asked to provide a breath sample on the breath analyser, with all returning a negative result and cleared to take their mounts.

During the race meeting a complaint was lodged by Mr Paul Turner (bookmaker’s clerk) to the Stewards regarding an incident involving bookmaker Mr Richard Turnbull and bookmaker’s clerk Mrs Marie Lyon. At the conclusion of the race meeting stewards held an inquiry into the alleged altercation. After hearing submissions from all parties and witnesses, stewards established that a heated exchange of words may have taken place but were unable to substantiate the substance of the complaint. Stewards noted that the said parties have previous history of a similar incident and advised all parties that this behaviour will not be tolerated. Stewards also advised all parties that if there is a repeat incident of a similar nature, one or all parties may be subject to a breach of AR175(q) and penalties may be imposed.
