RACE 1: JM Switchboards QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1250 metres
1st - TURN UP THE VOLUME 2nd - SAGA'S PRINCESS 3rd - REGAL ROTH 4th - NIC'S DRAGON

RYLEE'S SAGA - After being placed in the barriers and whilst the horse was being assisted by a barrier attendant, the gate occupied by the filly opened prematurely, resulting in that filly galloping riderless for a considerable distance. By order of the stewards the filly was a late scratching, at 12.25 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on RYLEE'S SAGA be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

12¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, TURN UP THE VOLUME
10¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, TURN UP THE VOLUME
18¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, SAGA'S PRINCESS
16¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, REGAL ROTH

Club officials corrected the mechanical fault that led to the incident.

SAGA'S PRINCESS - Bumped shortly after the start.

RACE 2: Plasta Masta Class 3 Handicap - 950 metres
1st - MAURIZIO 2nd - PIT BOSS 3rd - ROYAL PHYSICIAN 4th - RECONCILIATION

FORGOTTEN DESTINY - Trainer B. Baker reported to stewards that the gelding had worked hard during its preliminary and as such stewards requested that it be examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon behind the barriers. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon and after stewards took advice from App. M. Kai, the gelding was cleared to take its place in the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that FORGOTTEN DESTINY had bled from both nostrils. Trainer B. Baker was advised that, as this was the second occasion on which the gelding had bled, it will be barred from racing under A.R. 53A(5).

GIVE ME TIME - Crowded for room at the start.

SANDBAR JACK - Began awkwardly.

EFFIGY BELLE - Raced wide throughout.

DRAMATIC SAGA - Raced wide throughout.

ASSERTIVE LOVE - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the mare, Jockey R. Thompson said that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage of the event and that rounding the home turn, when tightened for room between runners, both of which shifted ground, the mare failed to respond to his urgings from that point.

Jockey S. Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 50 metres he allowed ROCHALLOR to shift in whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of MR WRECKER (W. D'Avila), which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Wilson was suspended from riding in races for a period coveriang 2 NQ meetings, commencing tonight, Sunday 9th August 2015 up to and including Sunday 16th Augst 2015. Jockey J. Felix pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that rounding the home turn he allowed AUGUSTE to shift out when insufficiently clear of ARONSON (S. Wiseman), which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Felix was suspended from riding in races for a period covering 2 NQ meetings, to commence at midnight on tonight, Sunday 9th August 2015 up to and including Sunday 16th Augst 2015. ROCKET BILLY REBEL - Rounding the home turn was awkwardly placed on heels, then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

Simmons), which became unbalanced and was carried wider. Jockey Kaya was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at the expiration of the suspension imposed on him yesterday, that is, to commence at midnight on Saturday 6th September 2015, up to and including Friday 25th September. MR HONOR: On returning to scale Jockey S. Wilson reported that after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and assume the lead.

Stewards questioned App. M. Haley in the presence of Racing Queensland Apprentice Mentor in relation to his riding of RICHIE ROCKET. App. Haley said that, as the gelding was stepping up in distance, he was instructed to ride it back in the field. He said that after straightening he was disappointed for a run to the inside and had to be continually shifted out in an attempt to obtain clear running, however he was continually held up and went to the finish without being fully tested. App. Haley concurred with stewards that he should have persisted longer in his attempt to obtain a run to the inside, which evenatually would have enabled him to have an unimpeded run.
