Race 1: Studio H By Helen QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 950m
 
THE FRONTIER – Slow to begin.
 
CHAUSIE – Shifted ground shortly after the start, bumping another runner.
 
JACK REACHER – Shifted ground shortly after the start, bumping with another runner.
 
ARTE ET MARTE – Shifted out on jumping, tightening a runner to its outside. Shifted out  near the 750m, bumping with another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ROCK BABY ROLL – Began awkwardly and shifted in, tightening another runner. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight and shifted out abruptly near the 200m before being corrected.
 
GENERAL’S BRIDE – Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
COOL ATTITUDE – Had a tendency to lay out in the early and middle stages of the race.
 
LAGA LAD – Shifted in near the 750m bumping with another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 2: Totally Workwear Cairns Maiden Plate – 1250m
 
MANGO DELIGHT – Slow to begin. Over-raced approaching the 1000m improving into an awkward position being crowded for room and was steadied.
 
PLATINUM PULSE – Tightened for room on jumping away.
 
MAROON CREEK – Jumped inwards at the start, forcing another runner inwards.
 
VICTORMATIC – Slow to begin. Over-raced approaching the 1000m and shifted in, crowding another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Finished tailed off. Trainer T. Rowe advised that following the horse’s performance it would now be retired from racing.
 
STRADIFY – Began awkwardly and became unbalanced rounding the turn near the 1000m having to be steadied. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
KEYS TO CITY – Raced ungenerously rounding the 1000m turn and shifted out, tightening runners to its outside.
 
DE LADY DELUXE – Slow to begin. Tightened for room in between runners which were racing ungenerously near the 1000m, having to be checked. Checked and lost ground near the 400m when tightened for room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a laceration to its off fore leg.
 
WAKOOL – Jockey N. Yadi pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a), in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 1000m when not clear of DE LADY DELUXE, which had to be checked and lost its rightful  running.  N. Yadi’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight, 26.12.18 and to expire at midnight 4.1.19.   
 
BUXTON – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 3: Hurney Partners Class 6 Plate – 1400m
 
UMGENI – Delayed the start when proving difficult to load. Slow to begin.  Trainer K. Krogh was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
TWICE THE STYLE – Slow to begin.
 
FLYING ONE MORE – Slow to begin.
 
BOLD KINGSTON – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ARNO BAY – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 4: Niesar Painting Class 5 H’cap – 1250m
 
GOING GREY – Slow to begin.
 
CONTEMPLATE – Slow to begin.
 
AWAKENING – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
SENSEOFWONDER – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and became awkward in its action in the middle stages and as a result was not placed under pressure in the home straight and finished tailed off.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer K. Krogh was advised that the gelding’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until such time as it establishes competitive form through country racing.
 
SALESMAN – Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 600m.
 
Race 5: Clarke Trenching Class 3 Plate – 950m
 
RATHDOWNEY AVENUE – Began awkwardly and was then bumped by another runner, which shifted in.
 
PARK HUSSLER – Shifted in at the start, bumping another runner.
 
INDELICACY – Began awkwardly.
 
STOLE THE SHOW – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6:  Nuleaf Open H’cap – 950m
 
TUSCAN FALLS – Change of tactics. Trainer S. Massingham advised stewards prior to the race that it would be the intention to ride the gelding off the pace today if circumstances permit. This information was broadcast via public address. Slow to begin, then raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
NO BITING – Slow to begin.
 
FAST CAR – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA ALDI – Slow to begin.
 
PRICKLES – Raced in restricted room from leaving the 400m until the 300m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GREEN ANCHOR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
WORLD OF PAIN - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BELLA SASH - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 7: Cairns Hardware Company Class 1 H’cap – 1250m
 
KENSINGTON STAR – Initially slow to begin, and was then bumped by another runner, which shifted in on jumping away.
 
SALLY’S SPIRIT – Jumped inwards at the start, bumping another runner.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
UNCHARTERED – Slow to begin.
 
ROTHESAY MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
MBWALI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ALPINE MAGIC - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FLYING DUBAI - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
