SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
CAIRNS – FRIDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2021
 
Race 1: CHATEAU ROYALE –Trainer P. Rowe advised stewards the filly was subsequently found to be in season.
 
Race 5: LOVE EXPRESS –Trainer T. Rowe advised stewards the gelding was subsequently found to have two black eyes to which it was treated for.

GENERAL
 
Race 4: SYLVESTER – Declared a late scratching at 9.03am by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
 
Race 1: STRADBROKE SEASON BRISBANE Maiden Plate 1400 Metres
 
BULLSWOOL – Saddle shifted to the near side near approaching the 1000m, placings its rider at a disadvantage and as result shifted out abruptly leaving the 1000m hampering AGE OF DAWN. Due to this incident BULLSWOOL took no competitive part for the remainder of the race. A Post-Race Veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

DAWN STRIKE – Jumped awkwardly shifting inwards making contact with DESERT SUNDOWN. Over raced in the early stages.
 
DESERT SUNDOWN – Jumped inwards striking the off-side barrier partition, was then bumped and lost ground.
 
AGE OF DAWN – Hampered leaving the 1000m by BULLSWOOL which shifted out.
 
VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Following the running of the race Jockey/Trainer S Wilson reported that in his opinion the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit. As such he would give consideration to using a tongue tie in its next start.
 
Race 2: TATTERSALL'S QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1250 Metres
 
ANNIEMARIAH – Over raced in the early stages.
 
DESTROY THE STAR – Over raced in the early stages. Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
VIENNA CRUISE – Reluctant to improve to the inside of RUSTIC ROCKET, approaching and leaving the 400m. Shifted out approaching the 300m and bumped RUSTIC ROCKET.
 
RUSTIC ROCKER – Became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters approaching the 300m.
 
Race 3: ROSS MOLLER MEMORIAL Class 3 Plate 1250 Metres
 
GO DEEP – Slow to begin.
 
MATTERHORN (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 4: CENTURY CRANES SIR WILIAMS OBE Class 6 Plate 950 Metres
 
 
RIGEL – When questioned Jockey N Day stated that gelding had travelled only fairly in running and when placed under pressure failed to respond and disappointed. He also stated in his opinion RIGEL may have pulled up slightly distressed. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer S Massingham advised that he was disappointed with today’s performance, as a result he will have further veterinary examinations conducted in the following days and will advise the Stewards of any findings.
 
SUPPOSEDLY WICKED – Shifted out under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 5: KENFROST HOMES Class 1 Handicap 1500 Metres
 
GAELIC – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Proved difficult to ride out when hanging out under pressure in the home straight
 
CUNNAMULLA – Jumped in and crowded runners to its inside. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
FORSETI – Crowded on jumping.
 
MISPRINT – Crowded on jumping.
 
SANDY TOES – Crowded on jumping.
 
STYLE LINE – Slow to begin and put in an awkward stride shortly after the start. Over raced in the early and middle stages and checked off heels near the 800m.
 
 
Race 6: TAB CAIRNS AMATEURS SPRINT 1400 Metres
 
DOCTOR ZOUS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LANGHRO – Over raced in the early stages.
 
ONLY WANNA SING – Slow to begin. Correct weight was delayed when, Jockey R Wiggins requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest. After viewing the films, Jockey Wiggins advised that he did not wish to proceed with the protest.
 
WILLYGOOD – Slow to begin.
 
SIMPLY SPLASHING – Slow to begin.
 
HELMAZ – Slow to begin.
 
EL OF A SAGA – Over raced in the early stages.
 
Race 7: 7 GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO CAIRNS AMATEURS CUP 2100 Metres
 
STUBAI – After striking its offside hip on the gate post upon entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the barriers and cleared to start.
 
BEST HOFFA – Slow to begin.
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Slow to begin.
 
UNBIASED – Eased at the start to take a position closer to the rail.
 
BULLION WOLF – Shifted in under pressure near the 200m obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount. Jockey C Bayliss pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking his mount 18 times which is 4 more times than is permitted. Jockey C Bayliss’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 18th  September 2021 and expire midnight 25th September 2021. Jockey C Bayliss was advised of his rights in regards to an Internal Review.
 
TUTELAGE – Raced wide in the early stages until improving forward near the 1200m to race outside the leader.
 
BAJAN GOLD (IRE) – Shifted wider to improve passing the 800m.
 
BERING SEA – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LIVE THE MOMENT – Post Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that they will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
MAQUEREAU - Jockey L Morrison was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that she used her whip in an excessive manner by striking her mount 17 times which is 3 more times than is permitted. Jockey L Morrison’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 11th September 2021 and expire midnight 18th September 2021. Jockey L Morrison was advised of her rights in regard to an Internal Review.
 
BATTLE PLANE – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
BRILLIANT MIND – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BUXTON – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Following the running of this race Jockey N Thomas (BERING SEA) was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Service Officers and cleared to fulfill his remaining riding engagement.
 
Race 8: 8 YVONNE DE LACY MEMORIAL PATRON'S CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1900 Metres
 
THE GOOD THE BAD (NZ) – Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MISS SILKY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Hampered near the 100m.
 
JOHN BOOKE – Slow to begin.
 
HE'S WOW CLASS – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
CITY SMART – Shifted out near the 100m and hampered MISS SILKY.
 
TAIKUN WARRIOR – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
KINGSBRIDGE – Near the 300m had to be shifted outwards after becoming awkwardly placed on heels.
 
FIORELLI – Slow to begin and raced for the majority. Post-race veterinary examination found the gelding to be exhibiting signs of soreness over the rump area. Trainer S Potiris advised Stewards the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
 
HOT TOP – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
